To save or not save?

Nearly every time I come to the computer and there is an open Mastercam file, it asks whether to save the changes or not when loading another job. I am told to always choose "save" because maybe the workmate has forgot to save. However, there are MANY situations where we make temporary changes to the Mastercam files and I usually have no idea if the currently open project is one of them. For this reason, I'd myself prefer to always choose "don't save" (the programmer's job is to make sure to remember to save; if there was a power cut, all would be lost).

Which one do you think is the better practice?

Get the person to save and exit....their file, their responsibility

Short of that, I would save the file if no one was there to answer the question

In that situation, I save the file, but put my initials on the end of the filename

Gcode, we do that, plus the date,  while training a programmer up to speed.

We save all our temp files in MC.

Each component has its own machine group and toolpath group

Seeing the temp file allows us to know the temp was actually performed

If it wasn't then it is still there to commence in-case someone closes the file

without saving before it was competed.

Also they can be deleted or not at any time.
