Okuma OSP300M

Just wondering if anyone has loaded Mastercam on an Osp 300M control for doing simple programs on the machine. Engraving cavity numbers on to surfaces is what I was interested in.

I have not tried on a P300M but I did try X7-8 on a P200 a few years ago. It worked ok for simple toolpaths in 2d using backplot only. The simulation did not work.

I would suggest upping the RAM in the back of the control, but it will still lack in the video card/processing department. Keep it to minimal use and you should be alright. Also, I would not use Mastercam on the control if the machine is running a program. System crashes do happen and it would suck if you were in a cut when it happens.

I couldn't agree more. Why risk it? It is meant to run a machine and why risk such an investment putting anything on the computer that was made to only run the machine.
