Because of the layout of our city, we have a better Node/User ratio than many which is why I get such killer Bandwidth. DSL is not yet available in my area. I made the committment to whoever puts Broadband in first gets a shot at my business, and as long as the service meets or exceds my expectations I'll not switch. So now my expectations are high.

 

I downloaded the Design Tracker 8 software last night, 2 minutes flat. That's a 30+ MB download. (I added that for speed reference). Since I'm able to download at such speeds I can often tell when server traffic is heavy on the site I'm accessing. Plus, I have a neat utility called NetMedic that shows me what my speed is, and a host of other neat features. Can't get it anymore. Luckily I saved the download. If anybody wants it, lemme know and I'll drop it on the FTP.

Cant get DSL or Cable in my area.

Best was ISDN until all those raido towers started popping up all over.

 

I am wireless now with 130up and 400 down for half the price I was paying for ISDN.

I hear ya James.....But it was that or analog 56k.

 

I'm glad I'm not on the ISDN network anymore.

 

I was forced to use them for 4 years......

And remember, some neighborhoods still use same lines for DSL that Bell himself probably laid.
