Question on x style coolant

First, what would be a good use for before? I can not think of a good reason for the coolant to be turned on before the tool change? but maybe someone has a good idea for it.

second, is there anyway to just have on/off on the coolant flood, mist, and thru? RIght now, I get 3 choices. For flood, I get m08 m09 and disable. If I pick m09 instead of ignore. And or m56 instead of ignore for coolant thru. I get an alarm, and the ends of the tool section has a ton of coolant codes.

Do a search for Coolant. It's been covered so many times. First, there are 2 Coolant "modes". There is the old style coolant, (known as V9-style), and "X Coolant".

I won't give you all the details here, because I want you to search. But basically, V9 coolant limits you to 3 Coolant Options, and only a single "off" coolant code. You can only use a single option per tool path.

If you need more than 3 options, or if you need a different "off" code for any of your Coolant options, then you need to use X-style coolant.

Ok, just saw that you are using X Style in the title of your Thread. It is weird that you are getting a Selector value of '20'. (That is the error in your ERR file. The String Select Table for X Coolant has 20 options, but the list starts at "0" (zero based index), so the only valid values for output are 0-19.

How old is your original post? Try taking a new copy of MPMaster, and post the same Program. I bet you won't get the errors. If that is the case, you can copy the logic over from the new MPMaster to your old Post.

The post is 2-3 months old? Downloaded from emastercam before the new website.

I just did a test again. just doing a simple contour of a square shape. I have the coolant as M09 AFTER. I used MPMASTER_VERTICAL.mcam-control, using mpmaster.pst in the MD.

Unless I'm way off the "before" "with" and "after" refer to the output with the Z approach.   It will "M09" at the end of the unit regardless at force tool change and if you don't want force tool change but want to turn off coolant you do the M09 with "before" on the next unit. At least that works for me.

Before, with, after refer to spindle on/off.

Depending on machine ofcourse

ie: through coolant/air can only be turned on before spindle on.  Flood before or after, not on the same line, etc.

I generally edit my post to use x style but no before/with/after option just hardcore the position based on machine requirements.
