anybody knows if it it possible

to change feed on a drill cycle like G81-G83

EXAMPLE OF A DRILL CYCLE FOR FANUC:

Z0 IS THE TOP OF THE PART!

G98G83Z-1.R.05Q.1F1.5

NOW THE QUESTION!

CAN I CHANGE MY FEED AT Z-.9

BEFORE IT BREAKS THRU?

Sounds like custom macro or time to create a custom drill cycle to me. The standard canned cycles don't handle that. It's a machine issue.

Or, you could use 2 drilling ops. First one at feed A to z-.9 and second op at feed B and choose the appropriate top of stock and retract and clearance values to rapid to z-.85 before it feeds.

The only drawback is the tool will have to return to the rapid plane before the second op kicks in.

Sometimes, the good ol' fashion way can do fancy things. Just generate a "longhand" drill cycle using G0 and G1 moves and change your feed rate whenever and to whatever value you want.

In the post you would have to change the variable "usecandrill : no "
