My 5600 is the 256MB Variety. My MOBO is only 2x AGP so when I finish my system upgrade, I'm confident it will do quite nicely at 8x.

made for Cad-Cam.

I think those are refurbished cards at that price

It says they are "repackaged and missing noessentail materials"

good afternoon all,

 

I installed the new driver (56.64)for the 5600-256 card that I have. That really screwed things up. mastercam crashed on opening of certain files. so i turned down the graphic accelerater. then I get the nice square curser marks leftover in MC.

 

so i am saying that if you have a 5600 card do not update your drivers if you run MC on that box.

My suggestion would be to uninstall the nVIDIA Display Driver from the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel. Reboot. Install and run Detonator R.I.P.. Reboot into Safe Mode. Install the latest ForceWare drivers. Reboot.

Nope. But I may pick up an GF FX card to replace the Ti 4400 in my home system at some point. The only FX cards we have here in the office are Quadro's.

i can not get the detonator to DL it throws me back to there home page

Jody, are you talking about the latest nVIDIA drivers (which they've renamed as 'ForceWare' and ditched 'Detonator' for whatever reason)? If so, have you tried one of other download mirrors?

sorry i was interuped in the middle of typing detonator RIP. i was trying to DL the zip file from 3dchipset. so i cant run the RIP 1.5 program.

 

i have the latest drivers from nvidia i think that is the problem unless the RIP program does some fancysmancy stuff to let me install the drivers better.

Try this link instead.

 

Detonator RIP will remove remnants of nVIDIA drivers on your computer. Upgrading the driver sometimes leaves old files behind. Following my steps about will make sure that you install the drivers in a much cleaner manner.
