  1. It seems the increase is somewhere between 20%-40% from the suppliers Ive talked too. Even my Carbide preforms have increased. I agree Italian...carbide and steel stock piling but then we cant afford the gas to delivery our finished product....lol Was also told yesterday when I filled up my truck that the talk was oil was going to $80 a barrel so gas would be around $3.00 gallon. Seems to be a never ending thing.
  2. Read the NEW USER post first.....See Rule #1 There are SHARKS lurking in the waters just waiting for a new user to ask for a free post. I had no clue about the post either. I have read alot of posts here with good results. I still have no clue, but everyone here is willing to help. This is the result of our current generation to want something for nothing before trying to solve the problem on our own....I guess. The DOOR as been opened guys....Just walk right in.......
  3. I was just told from one of our suppliers that carbide is going up drastically. Has any one else heard this? It seems China is buying up the carbide. I was told it would go up as much as 200%. This is gonna get into our pockets very deep if this is true. They say the bigger carbide companys like Kennametal has already increased their pricing.
  4. The choir is always listening and ready to help you in this forum. Most software packages has NOTHING like this. There is a wealth of knowledge here.
  5. You could fix it to where the software could be loaded onto 1 computer only. You would have to get a new code to install onto a new computer or if you change computers. I have software that is this way. Its a pain in the butt sometimes but it would stop it.
  6. HevyMetl......Im from Glasgow....South Central part.
  7. Hey guys.......Would now be a good time to ask for a free post.....hehe Just joking!!!
  8. I would suggest making a tool library called taps. Save all your information in the library for each tap. When you program you can select the tap you want and all the information you enter. This is they way I do it.
  9. We use Garr 3 Flute TiCN coated for alum. and have no mercy on speeds and feeds. It likes it hard and fast........hehe We leave .010-.020 for a finish pass with a smaller step over as mentioned earlier.
  10. I went from makin chips to programming to shop owner. What was I thinkin. Now I have a life of STRESS......hehe
  11. Yes you can peck tap on a Fanuc control. Just add the Q value.....
  12. Why not burn a back up copy of your post for you to keep. Then let the other guys hang themselves with scrap parts and killed equipment. This way you look like you have your s**t together and they look like the jerk offs they are. And if the owner doesn't notice, you workin for the wrong guy. Just a thought!!!!
  13. Please forgive me for being a 6 man shop instead of a 50 man shop with deep pockets. And yes I have made do before and am sure I will again. Maybe you should stop and think that some people just enjoy helping others, and they dont critize others for helping. At least he did try. Thanks for the effort TK
  14. Even if you convert every thing to metric, do you still need to click the "Metric Values" or put 6 in the size and 1 in the pitch?
