  1. Would mind sharing your fix, so that those of us having a similar issue may see if your fix works for us?
  2. Or maybe leave it alone and stop changing things. The change from X, to 2017/2018 is gonna cause enough grief in my shop. It's gonna harder to sell the bosses on MCAM now, than just trying to them from Surfcam/MCAM V8, to MCAM X. BUt now to go to 2017/2018... I don't know why they gotta keep changing the stuff that works...
  3. I've notice with the prototrak lathe that you can't tell the machine what the nose radius is when setting tools. It cuts small with any insert shape except a 55° diamond tool, even using the conversational system.
  4. Still looking for help modding the post I have for this machine. Boss isn't willing to spend money having one developed, and I'm almost there, I just need to remove the G18, and get the radii to come out correct. TIA
  5. Why won't mastercam post a manual entry block out if it is my last operation? I'm on X8, and my post is a variation on the MPMASTER post. I don't use manual entry often, but I would like to figure out how to get it to post out the last manual entry when it is the last operation.
  6. nevermind I was checking it with a tool that didn't have the comp turned on
  7. So it only really works if I leave the CD at 30 in the section on tool. I have the formula in the post with all the other global formulas.
  8. Reseller is worthless. Last time I asked for a post they said just use the Fanuc 6, or whatever the default was. Same response I get when I can actually get a hold of someone at Southwestern Industries.
  9. I know I need to use the fanuc post for the prototrak, and have used it a few times. What I really dislike, is that all my radii ar backwards, and I have to go back into the conversational system to fix them. What do I have to do to get code from MCAM X8, to the protrak that is ready to run without at the machine editing? It really makes using MCAM to program this machine pointless. TIA PS, I'll be looking to make post mods later, so I don't have to edit the program after I post it.
  10. Like it says, I accidentally created a tool i don't want to see in my library, and have never(in however long X has been around) been able to figure out how to remove the tool from the database, or even edit it in the database and save it without mcam creating a whole new tool. TIA
  11. Thanks dude, I thought I'd need to use some sort of formula for the offsets. Works beautifully
  12. Like it says above. My hurco runs in isnc, and I've got 99% of what I want with a mildly modded version of the MPMASTER post for X8. I'm having trouble with the following: in the control def manager, under tool, at the tool offset registers I put "30" in the "add to tool" and diameter column, and it doesn't change my D call out. This machine does not have a separate D column in the offsets page, so I add 30 to my tool number(it only has 24 stations). If the post can handle this for me I'd like it to. I really don't want to open a program that was run on machine x, and forget to manually change my D offsets after I change the post because now we're running that part in the Hurco. I would also love to figure a way to have to post spit out a Y axis move at the end that brings the table forward. The G28 home for this machine is all the way to right, and to the rear of machine. TIA
  13. Thanks dude. I stuck at the very end of the pretract, and added "pbld," to the front of what gave me, and its perfect. No errors, and gives me what I need.
  14. Already did that, though it might help if I programmed the right cycle in the GUI
  15. I'll start off with, that I'm comfortable making mods to my posts, I've been doing it since version 6, just usually only once in a blue moon when we upgrade Mcam. My resellers have never been help in the past, which is why I've gotten into modding my posts. Here's what I'm working on, I loaded up the MPMASTER mill post(Mcam X8), and then using that as a base, I copied a new one called ***(name of machines it will be used for). Posted some code, and with the knowledge I've gained reading and searching was able to get pretty far dumping what I don't need. I need to add, an M29 for rigid tapping(it currently does not output this), and a G40 G49 before every tool change. I can't find where to stick the M29 for rigid tapping. And I'm having a bit of trouble getting the G49 to post correctly. If I put it in pretract, it comes out, but it has an extra N#(# equalling some number with sequence numbering). G40 won't show up at all. Sample of what I have now: O0000 (T) (MCX FILE - C:\USERS\USER\DOCUMENTS\MY MCAMX8\TEST\T.MCX-8) (PROGRAM - T.NC) (DATE - NOV-03-2016) (TIME - 10:14 AM) (OVERALL MAX - Z.5) (OVERALL MIN - Z-.5) G00 G17 G20 G40 G80 G90 G91 G28 Z0. 16. I followed the procedures in the sim fix pdf, and no change. This is with Win 10 pro, and Mcam X8. Reseller is no help at all, we don't have current maintenance, and would like a fix for this. I can get it running on my Win 10 home laptop, but thats not an ideal solution. The win 10 Pro machines just flat do not see the key after drivers are installed, no matter which drivers I use. TIA.
  17. We installed MCX2 MR2 SP1 and ALT+A for autosave does not work. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix? I used it all the time.
