  1. Hi All, I searched for silhouette c-hook and found this thread among others. If possible I would like to know who wrote this c-hook. Thanks, Singh
  2. Hi All, I was searching and found this topic related to Reference Points option. I am working on a file and using Volumill-toolpaths. I used point entry before and after the toolpath because ref points weren't working. Then I tried to use dynamic mill and ref point didn't work on the initial approach move either. Has anyone seen this before in X4-MU3? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the input. I am trying to bring the cl file inside Catia. And Catia uses a bit different syntax for the Circle records. Right now I am using "linarc$ = 1" to linearize the output. But it would be nice to have a cleaner output in desired Circle syntax.
  4. Hi All, Its been a while since I last tweaked the mc-post. So here is my new question: I am trying to use some Volumill toolpaths and here is the syntax from Volumill post. #INDIRV/[dirX],[dirY],0.0,e$ #TLON,GOFWD/ (CIRCLE/[centerX],[centerY],[prevZ],[R]),ON,$,e$ #(LINE/[centerX],[centerY],[prevZ],[X],[Y],[Z]),e$ How can this circular interpolation be formatted inside mc-post? Thanks
  5. Hello All, I thought some of MCX users might want to check this thread http://www.coe.org/Collaboration/Discussio...39/Default.aspx Thanks Samarinder
  6. Thanks for the info. It would be nice if Mastercam puts a seperate 20-thousands parameter just for tool-set length where use can put this value and having such capability the tool-path simulation stays good and true to actual conditions. I guess I have to add the holder length and overall length parameters inside the post until mastercam comes with a better solution.
  7. Hello All, Where can I find tool-set-length values in nci? Does MC put such parameter value in nci? Or do I have to add holder length and overall length parameters? Thanks for the help.
  8. I meant mouse clicks, double click in empty space
  9. And one more thing about catia you'll click 5-7 times more than any other cam including mc everyday. So you can build really good index finger muscles.
  10. Martin, I also work on catia. But there are few things that I always liked better doing in mc such as 1. renumbering of tools 2. grouping and sub grouping of toolpaths in ops manager when you have to organize more toolpaths imagine doing that in catia with over 100 toolpaths 3. absolute values especially in ref. points 4. ease of defining multiple work-offsets in horizontal machining. 5. thread-milling with multiple passes for hard-milling and tapered threads 6. post-processing 7. smooth option in 3d toolpaths with nice rounding arcs between passes You can gather a list of important items that you do in mc and I can tell you that how easy or hard to do those in catia.
  11. Hi Martin, I have used both catia and mc and found cat is lot slower than mc any given day as Robert said almost 50% slower. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I predicted a 6 months learning curve -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would say 5 months only if you spend at least 4hrs everyday and thats just for the cam side.
  12. Thanks for the tip and my fellow programmer also told me same thing and I was little disappointed that machine def cant be read by generic 5x pst. Anyhow I got it working now by changing primary and secondary axis angle description inside the post. Only problem I have now it spits B move first and then A. Can it be fixed? Thanks again.
  13. change line 'fmt K 11' to 'fmt K 5' and it should work
  14. I am using mr2. Well I talked to my dealer and he said he'd look into it. I tried a simple machine def. using table/table vertical 5axes. After making one simple 2d-contour toolpath in front plane I saw it swapping X values with Y values in output.
