Actually, now that you mention it, the fist two tools were there from an mc9 convertion. All the ops with the "machine_group_1.eia" were created in X after the conversion. I had another file with similar circomstances(two or three ops from mc9/ completed in X), and that one looks fine and posted and already ran in the machine. the "387485000 OP 3.EIA" is the MCX file name.

By strobe, do you mean flicker or an image of the tool being left while the tool is redrawn at the next location so you end up with many copies of the tool???-Mine does both things you describe.

If you are using an NVidia card, please make sure the "use unified back/depth buffer" setting is UN-CHECKED-I am (NVIDIA Quadro fx agp8x 128M)and I unchecked that, but it made no difference. Hole pattern example. Tool blinks while plotting, goes to next hole and blinks while plotting and the fist hole still shows a tool in it. On a six hole pattern, by the time it's in the sixth hole, I have six flikering tools thatI can't make out what they're doing. I've been using verify with no problems. Still no beeping though. Or maybe I just have the tunes too loud!
Hmm... I do have a hasp4 usb, and also run a printer through the hasp server, but we have 30 people printing stuff throughout the day.
It only drops out maybe 3 times a day.
I'll look more closely at this though.
I dunno, in x there's "Create>Drafting>create note...", which does give me something I can edit with analyze..., but I cant pick that note as a chain for toolpath. A simple double click on the text would be nice....
please?....
anyone? anyone?......Buler?
Yup, that's how I does it Trevor. In my old software, I could double click the text and re-edit the text, font etc. MC just slaps down geometry that you have to delete and re-create to change.
It would be delightful to be able to click on the resultant text and change the size, content, font, ect., and have the toolpath update to bright shiny new text!

My settings look just like your picture. The only way I could get it to work was to check "use tools step, peck coolant" under "tool settings" in the op tree
I have it defined as the default in the tool it self, but when I try to use it in the parameters, it's greyed out. Is there something that needs to be in the machine def?
Wow....., I'm sorry, did you say something? All I could see was this hot girl arching backward!
If your an experienced MC user, you should be used to not having that any way.
Wow, someone else owns a dx32? I get loopty loops all the time and it's usually not enough moves in comp or not turning comp on in a g1 move(g2/3). In V9, I fixed it by making sure I always had a lead in/out of straight AND curved lines. Just installed x and it seems ok. Is this something that could have been fixed in the control definition?
What's a control definition?
Did Ver9 have one?
Why am I in the dark?
Where's my car!!?
Searched old posts but couldn't find this scenario. I've got 50 pockets that I rotated around the z axis using toolpath>transform. Is there a way to force tool change on the individual copies? The force tool change check box for the parent doesn't affect the kids. I was hoping not to have to use the "create new ops & geometry" box because then I'd loose the ability to make simple changes to all pockets.
Hopefully something embarrassingly obvious?
I aslo spent many hour on a post. I made a new folder for the x post and copied it in there. Then I updated the copy to x. (I did the same fore the part file) No troubles. X and ver9 will run side by side w/out trouble.
Actually, for bolt circles, only the center point of the bc highlights. I have spot, then drill, then chamfer, then tap, around a cylinder, and they all highlight as the same single point in the center of the cyl.
