  1. I think it's a right click on level then /Change level notice pops up /All button/All Results button
  2. jbreth, Make sure you do what Bryan mentioned quote: For future merges, Settings, Configuration, Colors, Group Colors - set it to Use entity colors (not the group color)That's an important part of the puzzle.
  3. jbreth, I believe the answer is to click on the groups icon on the lower right side of your screen. Your set to make color groups right now and you need to clear that. HTH
  4. Rickster, Yes, playing the old axe or (new )solves most of lifes problems.
  5. I like having the upgrades but it must get very pricey for our company since mastercam is constantly upgrading. This is because we are on a net hasp and the IT guy has to do it all to 15 pc's when he has the time. It seems he never has the time actually. It seems very difficult to get the IT guy in a company our size . Kind of a big pain actually. I'm glad I have what I have though.
  6. Rick, It works for me when I post a file as it goes to my default loc. otherwise I have the situation same as you. But I have windows 2000 and I'm not sure if its because of that.
  7. Rick , I take it your other file is a different folder but still defaults to the last location when posting?
  8. Rickster, I was playin' with the project manager after reading Thads reply and thought it was pretty cool. Thanks Thad. I then cleared everything and it still posted as when the files were checked. To clear and bring it back to its normal path ... Go to your toolpath manager and recall your machine and it will post as before. HTH
  9. Hasp_L_M_setup.zip I realize you didn't mention for me to download it. I would rather not since it's unknown to me what it does. Thanks for the reply anyways.
  10. Been there done that. It just doesn't state what mill license is running on that pc. Thanks
  11. Hello everyone, If I go to someones computer and I see they have Mill X2 MR1 SP1 in the top bar on the pc screen, how do I check what version is being used on that pc? Whether it is Mill 1, 2, or 3. We are on a nethasp. I did a search but could not find an answer. Sorry if this is a repeated question.
  12. Terry, Welcome is it really more like a flicker on the screen? You may need to just change a couple settings if it is.
  13. quote: According to a co-worker, all you have to do is go into the machine group properties in the toolpath manager, click Files and select Replace where the machine definition is called outThis works if the 2nd lathe deinition is set up correctly. I'm pretty sure you need to go into settings/machine defintion and reselect another post and save when asked. Since this will happen again most likely needing to have another machine def. you might as well set one up for the 2nd machine. I also believe it works best saving your Mastercam file and open design/then open a new file and nothing will be in your toolpath manager. Then create your new machine definition. Then open your file with the toolpath and replace the definition. This works best for me. Otherwise I have to fight with it to stick. Then you could just do what Thad suggested.
  14. I noticed you have no spaces in your code. Try manually placing a space in cimco edit then send again and see if she works. Can you look in the machine manual and see what the 71 means?
  15. quote: When selecting closed chains, and forcing CCW or CW, it would be great to have an option for the start point to be where the mouse cursor was when you chained.Just curious are you pertaining to near the chain or in the chain for a point since you may be using auto curser or disabling it? Is this for wire? YOu can place a point anywheres you want to with a click of the mouse. when your geometry and the point are all the same color you can mask chain it then click a start point on the first chain. Then all the other chains will start the same and you will not need to pick any points with your mouse button. I do that in wire. If your using mill3 I'm not sure if the start point box comes up when you window the geometry like that. In wire a question comes up after windowing for the starting point. I pick NEAR the start of where the tpath direction flows around.
  16. Probably the simplest way to explain would be to Create a rectangle into 2D top construction view and fillet the corners as needed as Millman stated. Then... click on XForm Translate icon/ click on: all chain icon in the chain manager/ click on: an entity and the chain will probably go all around if no branch points are intersecting/ accept the chain when all geometry needed is selected (click on check mark)/ click the join choice at top/ enter a Z value with a minus dimension/ accept it with (check mark) NOw view your part in 3D
  17. If I remember correctly our reseller advised us to shut down Mastercam at night. I don't do that, but it could be the solution you need or maybe shut it down weekends. We're on a net hasp and I don't like having licenses not available. Especially since I've been using the solids add on lately. quote: opps, i meant my other right mouse button . . . .That's too funny! Ilike telling people your other left when they say it wrong.
  18. Hi Turk, Windowing you should try left mouse click and drag. If your near geometry your autocurser is probably trying to pick up an endpoint or some other point. In that case you will need to disable the autocurser temporarilly by doing a combination shift/left mouse click and drag the window or instead of shift it's Ctrl key and left mouse click. I keep a note of which key it is at work, but now I'm at home and I'm not 100% sure which one will disable the autocurser. Anyways, that is what I do. HTH

  20. Our bostomatic was shipped to Texas. It now collects dust and we could use it here at this time. I really liked that machine. Let us know how you make out on the filling in of the surfaces.
  21. I ran into again last week. This is how I got to fill it in nicely. Create a curve one edge from surface. In my case I had to create 4 edge curves total. Then create a surface ruled/lofted from those edges just made. You just need to start your selection on the correct side of the entities you pick for creating that surface. So I created one surface than another and job was done very nicely. HTH

  23. This is from the help menu. HTH Importing NCI files Follow these steps to import an NCI file into your current part file. Mastercam will add its operations to the Toolpath Manager in the current machine group. You can only import Mill or Router NCI files; Lathe NCI files cannot be imported. In the Toolpath Manager, make sure that a machine group exists and that its machine definition is compatible with the imported operations. Make sure that the red insertion arrow is positioned in the desired machine group. It must be a Mill or Router machine group. Right-click and select Mill (or Router) toolpaths, Import NCI. Navigate to the folder where the desired NCI file is and select it. Mastercam creates new operations in the Toolpath Manager for each operation in the NCI file: The new operations can be backplotted, verified, and posted like any other operation. Note: To change the NC name associated with the imported operations, select one or more operations, right-click, and choose Edit selected operations, Change NC file name.
  24. My screen looks nothing like that John. I just checked a pc with the earlier X2 version and the menu looks like yours I seem to have lost the options since MR1 SP1. I don't see a configuration setting for displaying the option button. With Win 2000 I changed a setting to Windows for the file get convenience. Otherwise it would show large icons and not list files unless you changed it every time you went file get. That may be why I don't see that menu. It also doesn't show preview or Descriptor. Anyways, That is only something I have to deal with but at least now I know why and for now I'm good with it. Thanks for the screen shot and all your talk on this.
