  1. Your saying they activate a square point at origin by pressing F9? Maybe they are just creating a square point at origin.
  2. dwetzel, Just a stab at that here.... In your machine definition/Files/Post excecutable/Data path correct? Welcome to the forum
  3. code: G3X.4645Y.762R.0015 Can the machine except that Rad. value with its current settings? Just a stab!
  4. Tim, Just for ha ha's do this; window select a straight row of the chains and see if it works. That's even if it's only a half dozen of them. If that works window the remaining geometry in rows. If not I suggest emailing the file to someone or put in on the FTP site. I'm not at work but I could try Wednesday.
  5. If you do what John says go to options and choose one way and point. Except it with the checkmark Then window/ then select the word endpoint in the left field of your screen and the endpoint of the 1st chain.
  6. Anyone, is there a way to window and select by point in 9? I believe that is what he needs.
  7. I believe Tim is windowing the chains?
  8. You can do this in X2. In version 9 I can't think of a way now but maybe someone will. If it can't be done in 9 that is just one more reason why mastercam gets better with its new releases and why one should think of upgrading. Welcome to the forum!
  9. Ever try cutting a surface with a flat tool leaving -.005 material? Calling a 1/8 flat cutter .115 works.
  10. I see. I can also chage that in my machine definition or on just a toolpath operation that I import such as a face milling operation. I like the results when I select no change when all the toolpath ops are selected. Thank you as I'll need to give this a try when I can. The code looks good though.
  11. Does anyone know if there is a machine definition setting that would bring the machine at X0, Y0 at the start of the NC program. It's just for visualization when the program starts to run. Or is this something that must be changed in the post? So I must be looking for G0 X0 Y0 right after M140 MB MAX Thank you in advance! code: TOOL CALL 5 Z S20000 210 M03 220 M40 ; VACUMM ON 230 M36 240 CYCL DEF 32.0 TOLERANCE 250 CYCL DEF 32.1 T0.002 260 M140 MB MAX 270 L X0.4827 Y-1.3171 FMAX 280 L Z0.25 FMAX The machine is a Mikron high speed mill
  12. Just did a search. Now it makes sense.
  13. Is there something going on behind the curtains here?
  14. In X2 you can enable it by going into your machine definition under "corners" and then place a check at the fishtale option.
  15. Daniel, I haven't used that path either. I also thank you for that explaination that seems simple now. Strabe, By the ways were your surfaces overlapping just a little for the flowline?
  16. yes you can, Back plot it in cimco also if you want after posting. Did you check your backup files to see if the last save is there?
  17. Your IT dudes could be having server difficulties. Does it do the same if you work off your local drive?
  18. I believe your surfaces may overlap in places. Zoom in and take a looky.
  19. In wire we have a 4 axis machine and there is an upper and lower chain. So you need to sync by entity for the job to come out correctly. The upper and lower chain need to start at the same corner so they are in sync with ea. other.
  20. mcuser99, Glad it has worked out for you in router. That tolerance method for me in mill isn't the solution so I fooled around with it some..... Did you ever try this way?... In the chaining dialog box choose (start chain at point) Then create a point where you would like the chain to start on each and every rectangle. In my case I selected my geometry and there were a lot of small radii (reason for me not messing with the chain tolerance). Actually I picked area and then just deleted the outer chain selection afterwords. The result was it did not pick the points as geometry and all the chains started where I wanted them to. This way my lead in and lead out did not interfere with any geometry. So I have learned something from your post by messing with some chain settings that should save me some time in the future! Have a great Friday!
