Steve, I'm not sure what blanked means?
Roger, I just tried ram saver, no luck.
If I window select there is nothing to select so its not a color issue, I've already moved the entities.
It will go from say 2,000 entities to 287 after I move them.
I routinely get dwg files that have stuff scattered across multiple levels. I reorganize the drawing to my standard levels but sometimes I'm left with levels that still show entities. If I turn off all other levels and screen fit theres nothing there.
Anyone?
I see why, in this case its the same as levels/colors/etc. it grabs what was used in that specific file even if you have something different selected in the open program and/or defaulted in the system config.
I changed point style to square in system config. save file. open an older file. while opening it shows the square point style in the attributes box and once the file loads all the way it jumps back to old defualt.
Instead of System Configuration it should be called Individual File Configuration.
Why would I want to change settings on a per file basis? Shouldn't that be the base system configuration for anything opened in MasterCam? Instead I have to change it every time I open a file older then the date I made the change.
Is this to much to ask?
What if your secondary (and smaller) monitor is on the right due to space limitations?
Guess I'm screwed!
Atleast give us the option of which side to place the OP Manager.
Thanks Colin, I'll give that a try.
Lifes pretty slow over here. I wish I was doing all the fun stuff like you guys and not this boring 2.5D all the time. I need a challenge for once!
Josh
I have been experiencing crashes when tabbing complex parts lately. its gotten to the point where I have to comprimise the safety of the machine so that the software won't get overloaded and crash.
It used to get really slow after I placed a bunch of tabs and if I kept clicking and placing tabs the software would eventually catch up and everything would be fine. now I go slow and after say 20 tabs it crashes.
Anyone else having this problem?
OK, here's how I got it to stick on my system.
Go into Machine type/Machine definition/General machine parameters-tool/material libraries. click on tool libraries and direct it to the correct folder.
That one took me awhile to figure out.
Save that Machien Definition and you should be fine. that overides the sytem defualts.
Rename the control/config file from the working computer something that stands out from the others. cut and paste all files in the cnc_machines folder to a seperate folder. bring in the new files and direct MC to those only. once its confirmed that the settings are holding then bring your other machines back.
On the machine you copied the Config file from was the tool library located in C:/Tools or the Default MR2 folder?
I had a heck of a time redirecting things after copying a config file.
I had the same problem Terry, I couldn't get MCX to associate with any files that were originally associated with V9 when I had a side by side install. invalid win32
I know this is probably a dumb question but I'm not above asking.
In V9 when you hit save it performs like the "save as" function in X and lets you enter a file name. In X when you hit save it's instantly done.
The problem is I've had guys save over the top of files many times.
So is there anyway to configure X to prompt on save?
Matt, if I do as instructed and hit a number without the spacebar it does bring up the fastpoint and the number I typed appears, after that I can't enter anymore data (just the initial number, cursor disappears) until I click in the box with my mouse.
Steve, Yes.
