  1. Where are you located? Try Jeff Corsen, he's the rep for my area (Washington State) and I'm sure he would be glad to get you going in the right direction. He has never let me down. I'll email you his number. Josh.
  2. I have seen this multiple times, never had in issue in X3. Only way to fix is to save file, close and reopen MasterCam. Josh [ 06-26-2009, 12:07 PM: Message edited by: Josh K. ]
  3. I'm using an eval version of the InHouse Mori Post. I'll look for the G112. Looking at the MPLMaster its Mi4. Thanks.
  4. I'm having finish issues doing a c-axis face contour on a Mori Lathe (no Y-Axis), it appears the code is outpout without enough resolution and I'm getting notches in the finish. 5. Steve, Thanks again for your hard work on the InkJet C-Hook/Post, works great. As for the Setup sheet. If I do a 2d lathe toolpath it uses a white background and then lines that are in color but hard to see, it also zooms out to fit both the part and the move back to home position. This makes it difficult to see the actual part. Josh
  6. It seems to me that "Slice" works great but "Spin" results in lines with angles all over the place. With Slice I'll get the correct 90deg, with Spin I'll get 89.966deg. This is with a tolerance of 0.00005. This will produce a 0.001" taper real quick and is unacceptable.
  7. Your correct, I used a different machine/control def and this was switched on. Please delete this thread. Thanks, Josh.
  8. When I use Arc filter on 2D tool paths I get adjusted feed rates on arcs. This never happened in X3 nor is it anywhere in the X4 literature. I would rather not learn about a huge change like this while running the code on a machine. I like this new filter yet I don't feel I need to reduce the feeds as much as MasterCam is doing. I should never do 5IPM with a 3 flute 1/2", roughing Aluminum. How do I configure this?
  9. How do we get rid of the white background with 2d tool paths? Makes it hard to see whats going on.
  10. If anyone has any Tips/Tricks please post them here. Thanks, Josh.
  11. Guhring all the way. I was drilling 0.375" deep in Tungsten with a 0.252" Guhring 1702 drill, no thru coolant and getting 800 holes per drill holding +0.001"/-0.000"....
  12. Whats the new feature in Lathe - Feed Rate "Micro-in"?
  13. Contact your Guhring Rep. I use Jeff Corsen down here and have done some remarkable things with his help.
  14. this is a windows "theme" setting in the display properties on your desktop.
  15. I would appreciate if someone could look at my post and maybe help guide me in the direction of fixing the "Z" issue. Thanks, Josh.
  16. unfortunately the one they supplied was the "Updated 1998" post that seems to not work properly with X. I guess I could try and find out whats wrong with the post as it is made specifically for the SL200MC.
  17. I just Finished dialing a post for a Hyundai Hit15s Lathe and now I'm on to a Mori SL200 with C-Axis, live tooling and sub spindle (No Y-Axis). I'm wondering which post I should start with? I was supplied a SL200 Machine/Control Def and post but it won't output z moves. It was last updated in 98.... I'm currently looking at the MPLMaster post to try and tweak. I'm also wondering how to, or if I need to output the U,W, clearance moves like the CAPS program we currently use. Any help is appreciated, Josh.
  18. 88HS controls. I could try the G01 F300, thats a good workaround. I just don't want to increase my file size anymore.... Thanks, Josh [ 03-24-2009, 10:09 AM: Message edited by: Josh K. ]
  19. Hey Guys, Does anyone know what parameter in a Fadal VMC that controls the dogeleg motion in rapid moves? I tell the machine to go from X0,Y0 to X1,Y10 and it travels 45deg to X1,Y1 then moves to Y10. This is scary when I'm trying to fly through features of a part and have no control over the true path. I was told I could change a parameter in the control but have yet to find it. Any info would be appreciated. Josh.

  21. What a PITA.... Does MasterCam create an STL for "Save stock as" because its easier to generate? Can you make surfaces with Verisurf Measure?
  22. Hey Guys, The Q.A. Dept. at my work requested a solid model representing the part at its current stage of machining at each inspection point. I tried to "save stock as STL" in verify but obviously the STL is too rough for him to use with his software and the CMM's. Is there anyway short of drawing the solid myself to output say an IGES instead of STL? Thanks, Josh.
