We run a 718 Inconel job faster than I've seen anywhere.
Here's the recipe:
1) 1.25dia X 3flt Kennemetal Facemill (.25rad inserts)
2)Kennematal ceramic inserts: KIPR125RP43540
3)4584 RPM and 41.25 IPM.
4).100" axial cut
5)Full dia cut
6)Run dry!
Oh yes..
7)50 taper horizontal mill.
You will see the prettiest color of orange-red chips spewing off the cutter. The work doesn't get hot and you get great cutter life.

Jim,
Font is default MCX Box.
It doesn't mater how I pick...shift-pic, window-pick, pick individual entities.
Doesn't matter how I drag. Crashes every time. I'm updating video drivers now. BTW, my platform is a brand new Dell with dual core Xeon's.
I'm crashing during a DRAG.
Please do this:
1)Create-Create Letters.
2)Type in: 1 2 3 4 5 6
3)Xform-Drag
4)Window-pick any number.
5)Press Return key.
6)Click anywhere on the screen 3 to 5 different places to drag-copy around what you've picked.
Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Dan

Greets to the group!!
My Spaceball 5000 makes my graphics jump (rotate) every once in a while, say every10-15minutes. Anybody else having the same deal and found a fix?
Thanks!1
Dan
I get this in Flowline. Using SP1 because I have to. MR1 causes me post problems but works the toolpath fine. When I read it into SP1 its screwed up again.
Is there a work around?
V10 is coming along well but still has it's new-program growing issues. IMO it's about a toss up to jump into it now and go thru the learning curve or wait for MR2 or later rev's to get the same reliability as 9.1. There are some groovy V10 functions though. When you make the jump, drop me a mail and I'll try to help with what stuff I consider handy tricks.
Dan
Slick,
Yep! Same exact problem. Exit out, restart mcam and it's fine. Luckily it doesn't seem to be something that will cause a crash like when other things start acting funny.
I use hide all the time and would really miss the flexibility of not having it. The ability to hide all of any entity/attribute adds alot of control IMO.
Hows things in Marysville? You're right in my neighborhood. I'm in Everett. Things are pretty busy these days.

Greets to the group.
I'm sure there is a way to do this but I can't remember how.
What I have is a irregular surface (solid) with points that I need to do circle-mill operations on. How can I quickly generate vectors that are normal to the solid at the points??
Many thanks,
Dan
