  1. How much memory does the computer have?
  2. go to control panel, display, settings tab, advanced tab, adapter, properties there you can see what driver you are running. download the latest driver, install and see if that works better, if not you can actually try earlier versions if needed.
  3. "dont know if there are any fixes for the ati " Have you tried different drivers? http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
  4. "Go buy a new video card. Mastercam and ATI do not work well together. I would take a $50 Nvidia card over an expensive ATI card any day." I have been running ATI firegl cards with mastercam for 6-7 years on several different computers and never had a problem.
  5. "Makes you feel good to pay maint. and get **** worse than you had before." I have been using mc since 5.5, and it seams to me as well that more of the bugs were fixed and faster before the "maintenance" program started.
  6. "I am not "Thad", but can't imagine not having one" +1, even if it is non magnetic, if i can lightly clamp it to the side i will before using a standard spinning edgefinder.
  7. for magnetic steel, i use spi magnetic edge finder. you just put against side and use you indicator to center between two walls, real accurate.
  8. In steel instead of wood, but it's my art project. (mastercam level 3, don't have art)
  9. "stick with NVIDIA video cards" I hear this statement all the time, but I have been running on ATI fire gl-s (3 different computers) and never had a problem. what problem usually happen?
  10. never had luck with ftp sites, If interested I can email.
  11. Are you using a mpmaster post? there is a thread about how to fix coolant values in the post.
  12. "Tyco recently split into 3 different companies" I knew they went under some changes recently, just using as reference to how well tyco treated its employees. I started my own shop 2 years ago, so I hopefully will never need to work for anybody else, other than my shop. If I was still working for others, I would apply for the opening, sounds interesting/good fit. I used to live in Coral Springs, so I know Boca Raton is a nice city. Good luck.
  13. The same could be said for incoherent cats.
  14. "Camgen....ease up on the negatives please, especailly since you haven't inquired about anything yourself." wasn't trying to scare off any potential employees, just giving honest assessments to rob and hardmill who are not looking right now. If you want a positive assessment, the tyco healthcare up in deland (fl) who I assume is same parent company, is know around town as one of the better places to be an employee. As far as me inquiring, it is my most sincere desire to never work for another company directly again.
  15. "Somewhere between St. Augustine & Cocoa Beach would be just fine by me" Not as crowed (i live around Daytona myself) as south Florida, but the pay scale will shock you, so bring money with you. "It would be much easier if everyone would just go back home." As a native Floridian I can relate.
  16. "Its just tooooo crowded here. So im also prolly lookin at about 5 yrs myself too." Don't look in south florida then.
  17. YES, I haven't figured how to fix, but the post that worked for x2 mr1 sp1, does not work with mr2. Just for reference what version of MC are you running and what operating system?
  18. I replaced .control, and .mmd with fresh ones, and reused the post. still 0 spindle, so your guess at the post is probably correct.
  19. Posting with mill.mmd it does post out the spindle speed. I went through the md before and lowered the max to 15000. I double checked and it is still set correctly. can the md/cd get corrupted and still open? I also retried again posting using the post that works correctly in x2 mr1 sp1, and post out 0 for spindle. "Window 2000 is currently a supported OS. That's why it is listed for X2." So is cnc going to fix the patch 1 for mr2 for the translators to work with 2000? why didn't they fix the remember list mode in file management for mr2? (it was a know issue)
  20. Installed x2mr2 (side by side with x2mr1), now posts zero for spindle speed. It worked fine on x2 mr1 sp1. The machine definition, control definition looks correct (redid for changed post for coolant values (edited mpmaster)) Even tried posting with old post, so it's not the post editing). Any ideas? running on mr1 until i can figure out. btw- running on windows 2000 pro, wouldn't think this would be the problem, but since they don't support it, can't rule out. (even though they list it as a os in system requirements )
  21. "camgeneration, I noticed from your website that you have a newer Mazak, doesn't it run on XP?" NO, win 2000 pro. (that is what it came with, not anything i requested)
  22. "It may have taken a little song and dance," This is what i object to, and you were/are a microsoft partner. I Have no problem of microsoft protecting their investment, but a call in registration code does not prevent this. I could download a cracked copy of xp and have no problems and no codes needed. If microsoft wants to be the big bully just since they are a monolopy, they will lose sales and xxxx off people who buy their product.
  23. Because he's too busy buying more software than he needs. [big Grin] quote: Just for the record, i have more legally bought operating systems (2000), than i have computers running right now. The only reason i have an extra one is I retired a computer I no longer needed.
  24. "Ok, so why won't you agree to the EULA for XP then?" More principal of the matter than anything, when I pay a lot of money for an OS, I should have a full installation without a time limit for calling in a code. I have seen too many hardware fail in a shop environment to go through may I have a new code microsoft please every time. I am not worried that they will be able to spy on my computer. BTW, at the last shop I worked at, they had a hardware failure, replaced the computer, re-installed office that need a call in code, and microsofts denied the code, after sereral calls they were finally got a code, but it left a very bad taste in my mouth.
  25. "You OBVIOUSLY are quoting selectively." Like you don't. "My personal spidey senses tend to get a little tingly when companies refuse to run software that require that they get codes to run said software. Seems like either they are paranoid about something (like the tin-foil folks) or they want to run more licenses than they have paid for. I'm not sayin' anything , I'm just sayin'." OK, so either i am paranoid or a thief according to you. Your wrong on both counts. Back to RIF, If you type something out, you are saying something, so saying "I'm not sayin' anything" is just plain stupid.
