OR, you could just fib a little and call your tool .06 Under actual diameter and leave .03 on all surfs. I thought about this but I don't want the .030 left on the walls.
I just set my tool .030 above th part and called that Z0.
No, the floor will be finished at +.03 on this side. I am leaving that on one side only by request.
I just don't understand why I can't leave stock on the floor. Seems odd to me that MC won't allow me to do that.
Ok, So what is the work around for this? Do I have to use a johhny block and set my tool .03 off the top of the part?
I am also getting an error that says stock to leave on wall may not be smaller than stock to leave on floor and it won't allow me to regen the tool path. I am using the offset but I want to leave .030 on the floor and nothing on the walls. Why won't this allow me to do that?
I am using a Surface High Speed Scallop
I am doing a 3d part. On one side I am machining to the exact dimensions. Once I flip the part over I want to machine .030" past the containment boundary. I can't just offset the boundary .030 because it is a solid model and the way the guy drew the part makes it dificult. I tried changing the stock to leave on walls to -.030 and leaving the floor at 0.0 but it won't allow me to do that.
For some reason my dim lines are rather fat and it makes the dimensions tough to read. I can't seem to find where to change the line type at so that all dim lines are thin. I can change them individually once I dim something by going properties but I need to change them all.
Yes..I am aware of that but this error happened when I d/led just X3 and not MU1 and yet when I d/led X3 via online with my box..no errors.
No biggie though. I called my reseller and got it fixed. It was not seeing the tollbar congif file for some reason.
Ughhh...why is it that updating MasterCam is a pain in the xxxx??
Why can't it be simple? Seems they make the updates harder than they need to be.
Now I know that 3rd party suf is tough to deal; with but they know we all use it so make concessions for that.
I still love Mastercam though.
I am already running X3 MU1 on my box but I am updating the other two boxes here and have an issue.
I am updating them from X2 to X3. When I load X3 i get an error box once I load and open X3. My only choices are to purge errors or to click ok. Some of these errors are .mbt files (I think that is what they are) and some are chooks that did not load properly. Not sure what to do here since I have never seen this before.
Also, I was never given the option of migrating or doing a side by side.
I am trying to open up a Solidworks part file and import the solids hisotry and it says that Solidworks is not installed on this computer..which is not true..any suggestions?
I need help making a solid. I have done some things before but this one is beyond my ability. I have a basic design set up and can email the file to someone but I have no idea how to properlygenerate a solid shape to get my final dimensions off of. I would put it on the FTP but I am unable to access it from the government computer.
aww..come on now..I learned draw on that and I find it rather easy to use. I find MC clumsy but I am new to drawing on this but I am getting better at it each day.
