  1. There have been some issues here recently and I may be xxxx out. And yes..our fearless leader is supposed to be creating jobs...but we shall see.
  2. I am a machinist/programmer at a model shop for the Air Force. I may be losing my job ann was wondering how I could get into just the design/programming aspect. I know my strong point is programming as I pick it up quick. I forgot everything my reseller taught me after an accident kept me out of work for some time. After coming back I had to relearn it all on my own and have pretty good so far if I may say so. Sooo..IF I do end up losing my job..any suggestions on how to find a mastercam based shop locally that I can get into and learn as I go but stay in the programming aspect of the business?
  3. Yeah..trust me..I would much rather be out there closer to my brother and away from the snow and ice.
  4. Yeah..you can savit in paint or you can just open up an new email and right click..then paste and thee it is!!
  5. use the print screen button and then paste that in an email...just that simple
  6. I wish CNC but my with our step daughter having her dad here we can't move. At least I don't think so..plus I don't think she would want to move that far away from family. It would be nice though becuase my brother lives in San Clemente.
  7. Damn..I might be losing my job here...if only I lived out there.
  8. I just tried to recreate this and I did not have an issue. SW is still open. I have tried to bring in a SW file and was told by MC that my computer did not have SW installed.
  9. Yeah...good look with that. Bottom line is...Ultem sucks!
  10. Yeah..having them as a side by side has been an issue for some on here.
  11. I would not waste my time...I would redo the letters just like you said and be done with it.
  12. Yes newchsmcam...there are issues with every cad/cam system out there. I personally think that mastercam does a great job of balancing the fixes for bugs and addressing the needs to move forward all at the same time. Some software like FeatureCam is great at doing FBM and mastercam is new at it. They will in time become better just like they will make all the fixes we want to see in do time. One of the great things about MC is this forum where we can get advice from others who use the software. That along with the amazing support I have received from my reseller and I can't imagine using anything else. I was disappointed the first time I used FBM and I still am but I know they will work on it and get it.
  13. Thanks Ron. I would have expected more people to have seen or to have actually had some files like this.
  14. I have been unable to access the FTP site for some time now. If anyone can access it can they send it to me via email. It is is zipped it will have to be changed to a .zap in order for it to make it through the DoD firewall.
  15. Does anyone know someplace where I can get a design for a chess set that I can take and make changes to as I see fit?
  16. I have tried to use the FBM in the past and it locks my computer up so I have not gone back to it.
  17. off topic but ak...your signature disturbs me!
  18. I am running an Anilam 6300 control. I have two posts..one for our 5300 and a new one for the 6300 that my reseller just gave me. I have used the 5300 in the past on the 6300. My suggestion is to try and post then run the draw at the controller to see if you get any errors. If you do, then contact your reseller and they should be able to help you.
  19. Yeah, I had all kinds of issues trying to change things over nut I think it is the way I had things set up. I was doing side by side installs and it seemed the X3 wanted use X2's contol files and command files.
  20. I have been using this to make some molds. I use it with a .75" two insert cutter. My mold is a 12 cavity and was designed to make sure the cutter fit between the 12 bosses on the top plate. It seems that using this tool path, I cut a ton of air and it seems to lift off the part and have to helix back down quite often. It might be tough to understand without seeing the part but hasd anyone else had an issue with this toolpath cutting air?
  21. OK..after three days of trying to figure this out..it is fixed. Thanks to Todd and Alex at FASTech for taking all the time to work with me to figure out the issue. It happened to be an old post that did not seem to work well with my controller for some SHS toolpaths so they reworked a post and got me running again. Thank God for FASTech and the Mastercam community!! Truly unparraled service.
  22. I will be using MAstercam U very soon. I talked to my reseller and the cost for Mill Level 1 cert is pretty cheap. I will make sure to let everyone know how it goes.
  23. Right now it looks like we are leaning towards either the Fanuc or the Makino. I wish there was some better info online about the Makino software and the controller though. Looks like a trip to the reseller is a must because there is not much online.
