  2. Thank you... the only change that took place on the station is the installation of edrawing viewer. I just removed it and restored my station to last weekend and all is good... what a scare eh? Thank you though greatly appreciated

  4. Hey Guys i got some .sldprt files from a customer and he is telling me I can pick the holes informations from his solid he doesn’t wanna print out PDF files. Is there a way for mastercam or a converter or whatever it is to be able to click on the holes of his solid and be able to tell if it’s 1/4-20 tap or 6-32 tap and so on? I hope am making sense. Can mastercam do this? Thx
  5. Hey Thad thx for the tip but I tried that and brought it in as surfaces... same thing the Colors were reset to the mastercam default. Thx though

  8. hi Pete... thanks for the help bro. mastercam technical support emailed me and I sent them a sample file to see if they can figure it out. that's the file... if you wanna take a look at it, now this should be blue all of it except for the inside of the holes. sample-file.ipt thanks guys
  9. yep... am not even sure what that option is for. checked or unchecked... result remained the same
  10. Hey man customer provides only .IPT and .STEP. in both cases when I open the files on mastercam; Mastercam resets the colors of the solids to its standard setting color default. been playing with the configuration since yesterday trying to stop it from doing so but I failed so far. thx man.
  11. this is horrible news man... I can't afford to buy a second software it took me years to save for the mastercam license I bought am I contractor programmer. Customer is big manufacturer; he doesn't accommodate for you, he replaces you. anyhow man thanks for the help and I hope I find a fix for this.
  12. hey man. I am using MC2019. I don't have inventor but I had to install inventor View 2019 for the mastercam to be able to open the .IPT files. When I open the .IPT files in Mastercam however, the solid color changes into the default mastercam solid color setting and it doesn't preserve the original color from inventor. I don't think I can send out some files though. I tested a file in FUSION just to see if I get the colors or not but had to delete the file right away cause its on the cloud and that was a no no. so sharing a file ..? i'll see what I can do. however I don't think there is a solution as I contacted mastercam about it since yesterday and am still hanging without answer other than to try to save it under different setting in inventor. But I don't have inventor, I receive files made in inventor and customer doesn't accommodate to every shop he gives work. thx man.
  13. Good afternoon guys This could be a very simple fix that am not aware of or ….! I got a client who uses inventor to design and he had sent me a table explaining what each solid face color means. Like RED face, means leave 0.01 for example, Green means machined finish etc. however all .IPT files mastercam opens are GRAY. the colors are lost in the translation. Help? is there a fix to this or something I can do to see original colors? thanks guys
  14. Hey guys... I use mastercam 2019 and I have my "shortcut keys" set. Am not a fan of mouse clicking I use the keyboard most of the time. however this morning in the middle of work... mastercam just shut down. when it restarted its behaving as if I have just installed it thus all my configs and shortcut keys are gone. now the question is that I may have to spend few hours re configuring and assigning the shortcut keys... however before I proceed in doing so I wanted to ask if there is a way for me to save my keymappings so that if this happens again I won't have to lose so much time. I remember in X9 I could save my shortcuts in keymapping. However I cant seem to find it here in 2019! any help will be great. thanks
  15. THANKS guys... problem fixed. had to download the inventor viewer... its good... thx all.
  16. hey Guys.. I got a bunch of files to quote but they are .ipt extension. when I try to open it; it asks for inventor reader or something like that.... is there an easy quick patch or fix for mastercam to be able to open such files? anyone familiar with this? thx guys... am using mastercam2019
  17. Hey guys, how is all doing? Updated from MCX3 to MCX5 yesterday... however starting to work on X5 all seemed fine and good until i imported a job from PROE.. usually they come in some weird colours i donno why. So as always i selected the solid then left clicked on color tag to change it to a more eye friendly color.. .... ... nothing is happening! lol.. I donno how to change the solid color? i feel silly asking this but did they change the way we change solid and geo colors in X5 or what? or something wrong here? :D inputs are appreciated or if someone else faced this same problem! take care guys!
  18. thx alotttt guys... this thing really drove me up the wall i donno why its made this way in MCX... anyhow, this works... thanks veryyyy much really have a good day peace
  19. Good morning guys... I am facing a problem and was wondering if someone knows how i can go around it. in Operation manager usually i have one machine group and under it i have several toolpath groups. now what happened is that i was trying to shift the working coordinate system for say, OP2, by 6" in the Y axis. So i go to toolpath parameter planes and input 6" in the y (for example) now automatically all operations in TOOLPATH GROUPE OP2 changed the datum accordingly... which is what is required... however at the same time, all other toolpath groups did the same!!! which is not required. I tried creating another machine groupe and do it, but same thing as soon as i make change to the datum, thats it... everything changed in all groups.. .how can i prevent it from doing this and only change the operations in the toolpath group where the change took place? i hope i made sense.. any help would be appreciated guys. thx
  20. hi guys thx for the input... i wanted to know is there another way to run it on Mac other than bootcamp? i have no clue how mac runs but i asked a friend about bootcamp and he told me if i'm to use that i might as well get a new pc instead! i donno why. The Station on which i do the programming is new. Dell, that was recommended by mastercam mind you, downgraded to XP, quad core, 3GBram. we got it like a year and half ago! but it crashes on me, it freezes.. it kills me am getting allergic from microsoft products... or is it my luck i donno. and on the other hand i hear that MAC is hassle free and runs nice.. but i have no background.. i saw my friend running xp and vista on his MAC as well.. parallel... would Mastercam in any other way other than bootcamp run on mac?
  21. Thx. I am using XP but pc just does not stop freezing or crashing. That's why I have had it with pc. Thanks though
  22. Hi guys... i was wondering if anyone here uses mastercam on a mac? will it run it or it simply is not supported? i've had about enough with PC i am planning to upgrade to a mac but when i looked mastercam up on the mastercam webpage i saw nothing concerning system requirement on mac.. so i had to ask... thx guys..
