  1. hi jparis.. thx but to be frank i can't stand those... i have one that i bought last year... not useful to me at all.. i need one hand on the keyboard. if only the 3dconnexion has a mouse system thast similiar to those things.... that would be good.. but it doesn't replace a mouse... unless i didn't know how to use it. which is very possible. thx
  2. oh so it is possible.. thanks alotttttttttt. because i was thinking of getting this one http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_poi...es/189&cl=us,en but i was afraid that i won't be able to assign those keys on the mouse.. thanks a bunch
  3. thanks man.. but can u program it so that some of its keys would be Ctrl key for example or such? thats what i need it for the most honestly but am not sure if what i'm seeking is actually there.
  4. hi guys i was wondering does anyone know of a pc mouse that has keys that i can program and say i assign a key for Alt, one for Shift, One for Ctrl and such? i've looked on the web and found some 'mice' but there wasn't enough infos provided for me to know if such customization is possible.. so? anyone knows? thx
  5. thanks justin.. i'll see if they'll agree to buy the stabilizer.. although i doubt they would. but thanks anyways i looked it up and lets hope it works as they made it seem it would.
  6. hi again.. ok! i WANT blue chips.. i want blue chips.. i'll keep that in mind.. lol.. man i feel like a toddler. thanks for helping me through this. but i don't have to see sparks and such right?
  7. so blue chip is no good? damn.. all chips i saw were dark blue... close to black... totally screwed up ya! thanks for all the help guys
  8. thanks cobra.. i will surely try that.. thanks.
  9. lol.. i like that mentality man.. time costs more i agree.. but here they are actually expecting a long living tool life + fast cycle.. and i forgot to mention am only limited to 150kb memory in the machine... so a 0.025 deep cut each time will cost me more memory no? not like i mind doing that but its just that am not sure the machine will let me. is it true that yellow inserts are for dry run and everything else is to be used with coolant? someone told me that once.. a myth?
  10. yes i did change it to 4.. learned that the hard way... as a matter of fact the tool i burned was 5 flutes.. lol... i tried running it at 6500 with feed 80. i made 6 parts with it... but after that.. usually with TiAlN we cut dry though? or with coolant?
  11. oh! no way to cut steel at like at least 7000rpm say? feed 50 to 80 like? i really am asking to learn not to argue. is there a suggested different coating better than what i am using for this application? any clue?
  12. hey guys.. finally weekend is here.. can someone give me any sort of tip or hint for cutting 4130 steel? i ordered some TiAlN coated tools but looking at the feeds and speeds chart.. am not sure its correct.. rpm1100! i may be a total ignorant i know but am more familiar with alum where i never run under 10000. Just need a general hint to direct me like.. side milling with 1/2 EM say TiAlN coated.. lets say am cutting .4 deep one shot at a ar of .1.. according to the catalog i got with the tool i had to go 1100 rpm as i said with feed 8.8!!! isn't this a bit too slow like the job will take total forever. and with TiAlN we usually cut dry? u know i decided to miss around with the feed and speeds and i tell you.. i thought the sun was rising inside the machine.. the sparks were beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.. especially when i was making a helical cut.. any feedbacks.. and sorry for being so annoying guys. peace
  13. hi guys.. and thanks to all of you. yes it worked today. the spiral flute expensive taps finally cut the threat after taking rpm down to 100rpm! roll tap was the real answer. we gave back all those spiral flutes cutting taps and got standard forming taps and guess what... i was stunned but it worked perfect on our milling machine. 1500rpm... much faster and seriously... i would have never guessed to use forming taps on steel. thanks alot to everyone i really appreciate it. peace
  14. the taps am using are spiral yes and teh .12" gap betwen the tap and the drill i meant to say if in my program my tap z value is -.5 my drill z value is -.620 but a very important point you raised.... cutting fluid! that makes sense but how is the cnc machine going to do that! sorry but i don't get it. roll taps! i didn't think of trying that i thought cutting would be the right choice but u know what.. i'll try that tomorrow hoping to have it work.. i can't really increase the hole size before the tap as that would, as you have guessed, make the tap out of the tolerance required by the client! thanks for the help guys.. i still am not sure what i am supposed to do though. and i hate the idea of guessing until i get it right.. i'll have a graveyard of taps. i'll c if forming tap combined with floating tap holder would make the difference.. thanks all again
  15. i tried pick tapping .150 deep each pick.. total depth is .550 and when i get there... even before i get that deep.. snap. Blind hole but i left almost .120" between depth of the drill and that os the tap in case chips are stuck in... i don't know what i am missing.
  16. Hi guys, can anyone advise me what rpm to use for tapping mild steel! M3, M4, M5 TAPS.. DISTROYED 4 TAPS SO FAR I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG. my ignorance no doubt but we hardly touch steel and ss. mostly brass and alum.. any advise is greatly appreciated please. p.s we increased to coolant concentration hoping to help and resolve this problem but no good. called the guy who sold us the taps and he was even suggesting a faster rpm than the one i actually used.. tried what he said and it lead to a faster catasrophy.. i MUST be doing something wrong. and this is no hard steel.. 1020 grade. soon SS 304 is coming and i wonder... thanks in advance all..
  17. its that simple? do i not feel like the biggest dork on earth now? lol.. i'll look for it.. thanks a bunch guys... please tell me this function exists in MC9 as well... i'll try to find it as soon as i get to work tom.. thanksssss alot.
  18. thanks for the reply but i think i wasn't clear regarding what the problem was. its not the warning that the post gives me that i have a problem with no... its the fact that the comp is at an arc. so what i was wondering is if there is a way that the post will take my G41 D# TO the line before the arc move so that the comp will be activated but won't give me an alarm!? thanks...
  19. hi guys.. was looking in the forum and see too many people seem to be having some difficulty with posts which gave me courage to ask and am sorry in advance but i am a total ignorant when it comes to the post language i have no clue how it works. my problem with the mpmaster i downloaded here is with it giving comp at the beginning of an arc. now MCX2 is honorable enough to put a M00 in my post code and put a note (cutter compensation at arc) or something like that. now the solution is simply me cut and past the G41 D# TO THE line before it so that its next to my Z value and the alarm goes away. now the question is... anyone can give me a hint how to fix that in the post so that i don't keep fixing this manually..? sometimes its a time killer with some long programs i have. thanks and sorry guys. note, am not complaining about the mpmaster at all its actually better than the old .pst FILE we were using before.. it's only this little glitch so far thats killing me

    Vista

don't do my mistake my friend.. X2 and vista are not good friends at all.. go to dell and order a pc with XP or if u're buying ur pc from a normal store check if ur new pc hardwares got drivers supporting XP and do a dual boot like i did.. works fine... but i don't suggest VISTA at all. its too slow and lags and overall evaluation is a crap OS. thats my input.. and byee..
  21. thanks alot guys and sorry for replying so late.. and u nkow what i won't need to go through this headache.. not because of the headache but i feel is 'scary' to shift the coordinate offset back and forth like that. so i mentioned the situation to the boss and its up to him to update the memo of the machine if he intends to keep it that is.. so i took it out of my hand and put it in his.. thanks again and sorry for being a pain in the A$$.
  22. thanks for the help.. e mail the code? meaning the MC9 file? or that would mean the NC file? thanks
  23. But why G11 did nothing? i counted back and shifted 3x4.275 and my x is back to normal.. becuase the part didn't continue beyond the first G11 as i got a over travel.. so? thanks alot for the reply.. but how do i cancel? do i replace my G11 by G91 G10 L2 P1 X{THE TOTAL DISTANCE MOVED THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION). i have 3 identical parts next to each other. so say what i had in mind thru my program is i do face part one, face part 2, face part 3, then pocket part one, then 2, then 3 and so one. it did the first 3 faces but didn't come back to part one no more. i hope that made my situation a little more clear and thanks again man for all and any help. peace
  24. HI GUYS... ok.. i screwed up somewhere anyone's input is beyond welcome.. G91 G10 L2 P1 X-5.0 This shifted my coordinate system and G11 is not cancelling it!!! even after i reset the machine's x axis is shifted! here is what i put and sorry again ********** :0000 ( 77054 ) G20 G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90 T1 M6 ( 1/2 EM ) ( FACING ZERO LVL ) G0 G90 G59 X-3.5825 Y-.4974 S8500 M3 G43 H1 Z.3 M8 M98 P0001 ( FACING ZERO LVL ) G91 G10 L2 P6 X-4.275 G90 X-3.5825 Y-.4974 Z.3 M98 P0001 ( FACING ZERO LVL ) G91 G10 L2 P6 X-4.275 G90 X-3.5825 Y-.4974 Z.3 M98 P0001 G11 ( -0.002 DEEP STEP ) G90 G59 X0. 25. i wonder how good this will be or even if it will be worth it. helpful i believe it could be but not independant it would certainly lack some sort of human logic that would be needed in some occasions when u plan a job or so i would think.
