  1. I'm trying to do a custom drill cycle for a gun drill, where the spindle speed and feed rate are slow for the first .200 and then increases for the rest of the tool path. I'm looking in the post file and there is a spot for custom drill cycles but I'm kinda stuck!
  2. Yikes! I guess I'm a little off but I'm still playing, SFM= 1962 RPM=10000 IPM=204.27 IPT=.0068 Which didn't look to far off.
  3. Does any body have a good resource for cutting data for Mastercam's Dynamic tool pathes, I'm doing a Dynamic mill tool path in 6061-T6 with 3/4" three flute end mill every cutting tool manufactures website I go to have the standard cutting parameters.
  4. Okay that's embarrassing I guess I should of gone to the roll outs thank you for you help now I have to get schooled on Model Prep now.
  5. Yep I clicked copy and then back to move and it worked, that is "funky" thanks again sir, another little trick I will have to remember as far as getting rid of the wireframe you must have Mastercam with Solidworks the standard version of Mastercam you don't have the ability to do that.
  6. I think you misunderstood my post I created the solid in Mastercam you need wire frame to create a solid in Mastercam if someone knows how to create a solid in Mastercam without wire frame I guess I better take a class! In versions prior to 2017 you could create for example a 4" diameter circle (wire frame) and extrude a solid then if you wanted to change it to a 5" diameter you could X-form offset .500 now your wire frame is 5" diameter and if you regenerate your solid your solid updates.
  7. I realize Mastercam is leaving the geometry because it defines a solid but in previous versions it would move the wire frame and then you would regenerate your solid and bingo your 4" diameter is now a 5" diameter now I have to delete the old wire frame and reselect the new wire frame and regenerate the solid so I must be doing something wrong in the newer versions.
  8. Okay something that's been annoying me since version 2017 when I create a solid then try to offset the wire frame geometry even though I have the move radio button checked Mastercam copies the geometry and leaves the original geometry is there something in the config. I need to change?
  9. Where is the parameter in Mastercam to do a exact stop (G61) I'm milling a deep pocket with .125 corner radii with a .250 end mill and I would like dwell in the corners so I won't get chatter any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. Okay I see bottom to top is climb and top to bottom is conventional and you want to select the right hand thread radial button.
  11. Yep that's a left hand that's not going to work
  12. Okay I thought with left hand thread you actually got a left hand thread, that's a little confusing thank you for your help I will play with this and see what the code looks like.
  13. Mastercam threadmill tool path does not have option to conventional mill !!! my boss contacted a sales rep who used his fancy code generator in which the tool is conventional milling which I have never done with a threadmill so I went to my threadmill operation in Mastercam and was surprised to see that you can't there is reverse wear so I tried that and it posted out with a G42's and G03's ? anybody no what reverse wear is for?
  14. Will Mastercam 2019 HLE be availaible to download and if so when.
  15. I will give that a try, I sent my reseller a zip to go file and they sent it off to Postability we'll see what they say, I'm wonder if its Mastercam 2018 I've had a few issues this version one of them is saving my work which I learned 30 years ago to save often and version 2018 that doesn't seem to matter some times it will save it and sometimes it won't at first I thought it was me but a coworker come up to me yesterday and asked me if I was having that problem so I guess it isn't just me, also when I use Dynamic Planes I like to select the entity from the auto cursor menu but everything is grayed out!
  16. I never have them on and its never been a problem
  17. The post is from Postabilty and my Misc Values are turned off . This has happened before its seems when I work with a file for a certain length of time one of the tool paths become corrupt. 18. G0 G53 Z0. for every depth of cut or multi pass it all of sudden started doing it, I deleted the tool path and wrote a new one and it does the same thing and what's weird is there are operations in my program that are unaffected.
  19. When I right a contour program with multiple depth of cuts and check keep tool down, when I post it out the tool retracts to the home position for every cut, is there something in the control definition, machine definition or configuration that might have been enabled by mistake? when I back plot it the tool stays down. Any help would be appreciated thanks
  20. Sorry, I found the problem there was two identical solids over lapping each other my bad
  21. I'm trying to do a revolve cut body and mastercam 2018 defaults to create body and cut body is grayed I know its got be something simple

  23. I have my WCS set in the center of the 1" diameter and "Z" is top of part, but when I run the program its like "Y" & "Z" center of rotation is some where else
  24. I tried the machine sim using the Hurco profile which looked similar to the Matsuura configuration and it looked good, as for the machine I'm really happy with it we've only had it a year and we have another one on order and plans to replace five 20 year old DMU Maho's I don't have any experience with full five axis, I guess I better take a class fast.
