  1. I'm machining a part on a Matsuura MX-520 and I need to probe a feature, I read the post (probing under G68.2) but I'm sorry I'm still lost! I thought it would be a piece of cake, but I'm really struggling. there are 8 holes total with a positional tolerance of .001 4 holes at .1235Ø and 4 at .0789Ø the inside of the slot walls are the datum's for the adjacent holes, here's my order of operations: 1) Block laying flat A,0 C,0 face the top walk around perimeter while holding onto the work stud on fixture. 2) Rotate part A-90° C90° mill slot. 3) Rotate part A-90° C180° probe wall of slot and drill .079Ø hole. 4) Rotate back to A,0 C,0 and drill .1235Ø. See attached PDF drawing Part2.PDF
  2. I do have MMC applied to all three datum's how ever our Zeiss programmer does not know how to incorporate it into his program, I was hoping the replies I got would say that tolerance is impossible.
  3. Every feature is machined in the first op except two of the holes, but all of the diameters are not repeating, on one part they will be intolerance and the next part they will out almost a .001
  4. I've got a part I'm making on a Matsuura MX-520 5-axis I have 8 diameter's with a .001 positional tolerance between three datum's I spot, drill, interpolate, and ream to size, I'm having a hard time holding the tolerance, any suggestions ? Thanks
  5. I just started working for this company and the machine arrived about a week before me so I had no input in the purchase of this machine tool, I know Matsuura is a good machine and it did come with CAMplete which probably would have been a deal breaker for me if I was buying it, my question about the post was for my personal benefit I was hoping to bypass CAMplete all together, call me crazy but it’s a lot faster to click on the G1 icon in the operations manager instead of launching a third party software just to post a program those of you who are not familiar with CAMplete it’s very powerful but has a learning curve, UI is very busy and I’ve had a lot of issues with it, I’ve been very satisfied with the quality and support from the post I’ve used from my reseller.
  6. We have a new Matsuura MX-520 5-axis mill with a Fanuc G-Tech 30i control it doesn't look like the Mastercam generic 5-axis post supports tool center point control, now don't laugh but does Mastercam offer a free generic 5-axis post that supports TCPC or do we have fork out $3000 to $5000 for one that does. Thanks John
  7. I don't know who wrote the post, I just started working at this company a week ago, I placed the files in the correct folders and when I posted my tool paths most of the time it updates on in its own, which it did not so I tried the c-hook and that didn't work, I guess tomorrow I will try my reseller.
  8. My custom post processor out puts axis moves in Mastercam X9 just fine but when I try to use it in Mastercam 2017 all the rotational moves stay at "0" any help would be appreciated. Thanks John
  9. I was hoping to avoid scraping the inserts, I believe there $5.00 each also don't have time to order new ones, its gotta ship on Thursday, I have to squirt some WD-40 on them, modify a M12 SHCS and screw them through to the other side!!! wish me luck thanks for your help.
  10. I installed 60, M12 x 1.75 by 24mm long helicoil inserts in a piece of 6061 plate that's 1.500 thick, the problem is I installed the from the wrong side, the plate is drilled and tapped all the way through, does anybody know how to screw the helicoil through the plate so it is just below flush with the other side of the plate, already broke the tangs off before I realized my mistake, I need to ship the plate to the customer tomorrow so if there are helicoil insert experts out there, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
