  1. Hello Matt, I ended up changing the Machine def. It just seems to me that it would be best to have it respect the normal right hand rule. I don't get why Haas does this. Thanks for the info.
  2. I appreciate the help everyone. I know how to change the output. It's very easy. You all are right, I will change the post / MD. Haas > the most non-standard standard machine. LOL Thanks all!
  3. Hello, I am working with a Haas VMC that has a Haas 4th axis installed. The machine is about 10yers old. The rotation direction is backwards. Would anyone have an idea of how to reverse it? It seems like it would just be a setting or something. Thanks in advance, Mike
  4. I am using the latest(V8) Predator Virtual CNC. I have owned Predator for a few years now and I really like it. The only issue is that is does not support mill/turn yet. I believe Vericut is the best but very spendy. I am sure it would be worth it for a larger company that could afford it. link Thanks, Mike
  5. Hello Julian, I can't do anything with it in SolidWorks. There are just too many errors such as bad surfaces and gaps. I am thinking you would have better luck by just modeling it in Mastercam. Maybe someone else may have an idea. Thanks
  6. Hello Julian, The download looks like a native wings3d file. If you upload a vrml(wrl) file, I may be able to open/convert it in SolidWorks for you. By the way, the wings3d website says it can export vrml(wrl). Thanks
  7. viper1, You may want to check out this video from eapprentice.net that demonstrates the pocket toolpath. pocket overview Thanks, Mike
  8. If the same arc cut with contour, it's most likely not a geometry problem. You may need to re-chain. ? Do a test with 2 or 3 arcs that you created from scratch yourself.
  9. I am not sure what you are doing. -Just select 2D geometry. -Do you have enough room in between the pins for the cutter you are using? Try a smaller cutter just for a test. -Can you upload a screen shot? Edit:/ We posted at the same time. Yes create a fake outer boundary. It will not cut it. Just do as I mentioned in previous post.
  10. There are several ways to do this. Just of few I can think of are: -Use a pocket cycle with a fake outer boundary. Turn off the roughing and select "Keep tool down" and deselect "finish outer boundary" -Program it as normal and save the geometry (from backplot) and connect the geometry. -Toolpath editor. The first one will most likely be the easiest. Mike
  11. It depends how you want to engrave it. Assuming you just want to do a simple 2D engrave, just vectorize the Gif file and cut it. There are many ways to do this. Please search for "raster to vector" Thanks
  12. Welcome to the Forum da-mack. You can use the Toolpath editor for this.
  13. You should be able to get a V9 CD from your dealer.
  14. The Z is rapiding to Z0 because of the R0. in the drill cycle line. This R value must be set to slightly above the top of the surface you are drilling. It is easiest to use incremental(in the MC op edit:/assuming the geometry is in the correct location) with a value of about .03-.10 The G92 is most likely coming from an mi setting. Open an op and look at the misc integers. Mike [ 04-19-2009, 01:34 PM: Message edited by: Mike Whitten CAD/CAM Contractors ]
  15. I am not sure of the answer as there are many things to consider. I would check out the options on the control. The Kia may have the Fanuc control with look-ahead and optional high-speed functions. This would be a huge deal to me. Kia'a are pretty popular on the West coast here. I know of many shops that love them. I would think they have to beat a Haas. A Haas is OK but most likely slower than the Kia.
  16. Hello Tom, I am not sure I understand. quote: When I open the mastercam, it cannot find the files. You may have renamed it wrong. The filename should be identical to what it was in the beginning. Mike
  17. Hello Dave, Settings > Customize > Category X+ At this point just drag an icon onto the screen and then rename the toolbar that you just created to X+ Mike
  18. Go to right side of the top menu and select Settings > Toolbar States. On the right side of the dialog box(Show these toolbars), scroll down to X+ and check the box. Mike
  19. Tom, So if you have the coolant on in the operation as shown below, it won't post? If yes, try a different machine/post. You must figure out this issue first. Mike
  20. So just to make sure we understand the issue. Are you using old style coolant or new?
