In the Autocursor help section, its called the override. I would like to have a config choice to maintain the last selected state ,also. I'll try some of the other suggestions listed above in the meantime.

Walt,
I think you'd want to make your tool/const. plane from the back (#3), not front for that operation. Then after posting, it should give you what you want after a 180 deg rotary index.

I'm trying to mill a simple conical surface using multiaxis flowline, but when I choose the supplied machine definition Mill 5 axis table-table horizontal.mmd, I get the error message that this machine does not have a programmable combination of linear/rotary axes. If I use the table-head vertical.mmd, no error message and the toolpath is generated. Any ideas why the table-table definition doesn't work? X SP1.
Thanks
Jim
After checking out that link, it would seem that MR1, which I was told was where they would roll out all the new toolpaths for X,
doesn't have much in the way of multiaxis toolpath enhancements. Are they waiting for when
5Axis becomes an option whose price is in addition to Maintenance before they make enhancements to multiaxis?
Jim
I looked at the chained geometry and the arcs weren't 180 degrees. I retrimmed the ones at 6 and 9 oclock so they were 180 deg and they posted ok. I couldn't get the other two trimmed to 180 deg. Changing plunge rate didn't help me any.

I started using this function yesterday by applying it to a contour toolpath w/multipasses and depth cuts enabled and the trim boundary being where the center of my tool would clear the stock. It works great except the rapid moves to the approach plane are xyz combined, not xy then z after like in the untrimmed toolpaths. Does anybody using this method know how I can separate the rapid xyz moves?
Jim
Thanks,
I'm mostly straightened out with the post paths, working on other areas of machine and control definitions wondering why this functionality was put it hoping maybe it will lead to a new post processor interface?
I put all my v9 post in a folder called "outdated" then ran the updatepost.dll then moved all the new X posts to a folder called "updated" . That messed up all the machine and control definitions looking in the "outdated" path for the post. Big headache trying to straighten that out.
Jim
Thanks Pete for resolving this, and another thing that's impressive is all the CNC Software people here answering questions about the new product rollout.
Jim
Is this functionality gone in X? Why have import CDL but no export CDL? I use this function all the time. What is the best approach to ask CNC Software to get this restored?
Thanks
Jim
