  1. I have to machines with the same controllers and language but one have a sub spindle. Is it possible to use the post for the machine with a single spindle to control the the machine with a main and sub spindle. Will mastercam control the sub spindle and will the post have to support the sub spindle?

  2. Thanks for all the ideas, I think I can make it work. One more question. My NL-2500 has a main and sub spindle, will I be able to use the modified mori sl 403 post with the transfer sequence(that I will insert) which has the same output format I want with the NL and be able to control both spindles through mastercam

  3. I want to know if its possible to add a transfer sequence from main spindle to sub spindle in a post. I have a mori sl-403 and a mori nl 2500mc which have the same post output except for the transfer sequence which I want to add into the post so I don't have to paste it in every time.

  4. I use sandvik ceramic dnga 3040 grade on my hard turning. I run a 1.5 shaft at 1100-1200 rpm and I get good results. I tried cbn but I couldn't get the rpm out of the machine (800mm chuck) to take advantage of them. My hardness is in the same range as yours.

  5. I am trying to machine castings of axle tubes in a mori sl 403 using mastercam. I know to use pattern since some parts of the casting are not machined surfaces, but I don't like the way it roughs by cutting up on the faces. I would prefer to cut the faces with plunging down to keep tool forces into the tool. I could use tool path editor, but I am thinking I am going to do it the old fashioned way with my slide rule.

    Any help would be great.
