Yeah, the delete part I had no knowledge on, I've never had to use it that way.
I use it to track PDM vault parts...they're always the same name, they just get checked in and that updates them.
@Thee Rickster ™ But a vault type software is more likely the level of functionality you're going to want.
Is this something that integrates with Mastercam?
So the multiple users in our production shop that only use MC and
import .stp or .x_t files, will be flagged opening Mastercam?
Higher ups are tasking me with this issue.
Cheers

I'm guessing this is not robust enough to solve the problem for you. It can only tell you when there's a similarly named file in the watched folders as the one you manually added to the list.
You'd still be better off with a version control system such as SVN, Vault, etc.
We Track Rev changes with a CN (Change Notice) currently..... But of course the human error factor has bitten us.
Someone setup a production job on the CNC and did not check the the flagged
CN for it with the new customer Mach.stp file and did not catch the program changes.
So we are hoping to automate it somehow to find a solution.
Generally customer sends a new file, it goes through our CN tracker and a CN flags the
production job, we Move the current rev data to an obsolete folder and place the new rev data
in the main folder.
i will look ing the the SVN, Vault as you stated,
Thanks a bunch

This seems like what i am looking for f i can get it to work.
Unless it only tracks Mcam file??
I have exhausted all avenues ATM, to get this to work with imported .stp files, Suppose i contact InHouse.
(i tried deleting the .stp files in the folder and checking and still isn't detecting change)
Thanks for showing me this. I just gotta get it to work
i'll try rebooting my system and test it again before i call support
(But first must finish a few programs)
cheers

Ok, I tried that.
I get this
So i went to the folder and changed the rev from 2 to 3
Tried that again and it didnt catch the change??

For a solid, Under File >> Track Changes >> Choose the options
Click Tracking in the top right
In the window, Right Click >> Add...select your file to track...
When you open the Mastercam file it should check for changes
Hey John, when i close and reopen the file, the tracker removes the .stp files
that i added to the tracker. It ads the .mcam file automatically, for some reason??
Is there something i need to do differently?
I tried adding the folder and the bottom of the page, but it still
does not save the .stp files i am testing this with.
added .stp and saved macm.
save/close MC, then open
Any Ideas?

Good Morning.
Is there a way to link a solid model imported from a file on our server
so that if it were moved to an obsolete folder (rev change etc) , Mastercam would flag the solid
or remove it from the MC file? .....(Even if the programmer wasn't using the solid to program with)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tom, I tried it to the same one twice, 4 or 5 days apart.
MC2022, when i inquired, it came through almost instantly.
Thanks for giving it a go.

Hi Ernie, how longs does it take to get the email link to the download page for 2023?
Thanks in advance

Good morning.
We are upgrading our p.c's that run drip feed.
The software we use is the oldest software out there and our IT guy
wants us to upgrade with a multiple license package, say 4-6 seats
Could I get a recommendation on a simple to use drip feed that ppl
are using. Cimco comes to mind??..
Cheers
thanks in advance

Does anyone know how to lock the auto-curser so it stays on (say) center?
Or at least have it stay on the last thing select/with lock on.
I dont want to have to keep setting it for center every time i use it again in the same session
Thanks in advance

Good Day Ppl,
Been a while since i posted, I hope you are all doing well.
I have a VM-3 which i believe is the same as the VF-3.
I can only seem to find .X-t and .stp on the Hass sight and only for a
VF-3, assuming its the same
If anyone could sent me a link to where i can find the actual models
in .stl format, i will greatly appreciate it.
Cheers

Nailed it John. Thanks!
Anything after the stock model works
-
Was using 2018
Now using 2020 now and found something that is 100% repeatable.
If I am generating a stock model of my all finished toolpaths, I cannot use verify or backplot until
it is finished or force close, restart, start verify and or backplot then start regenerating the stock model.
Is anyone else noticing this new behavior? (I cannot go into multi-threading, it will not stop the stockmodel)
Thanks in advance

Hi there, if you had installed the latest MC, but hadn’t used it for 3 months, and were using the previous version and made a lot of new ops, tool groups etc. can you just up date the folders again with the new install?
will it just over write all the files and add the new ones?
thanks in advance

Good Day
I dont do alot of tapping unless it is a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 or 1/2-13, tapped holes in my molds.
i need to tap a 1/8-27 npt but i can not find npt taps in the(mil_inch) or ( bigmill_inch) libraries.
So i called up the closest pitch in the library, 1/4-28 hoping there is some way to edit it to the tap i need.
but there is no way to edit the 28 pitch to 27, so i assume it will strip the threads.
Can someone explain how i can do this or send me a saved (.mcam-operations) file that i can import into my tool group?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Linking imported solid models in Mastercam
in Industrial Forum
Posted
Correct.
For some reason it automatically adds the Mastercam file and pointlessly removes the (named).stp files that
i want it to track.....
So i can assume it is buggy or just doesn't do anything really useful for file(rev) management tracking.(red flagging rev changes)
or it is still in development.??
Wish list or enhancement
