  1. WOW!!! You guys are looking to build Screaming fast PC's . How much parts and labor to build one for everyone here??? I am dying to see the Bench times you get with these.
  2. I would be happy with just one but do not qualify at this point. Ho well....better luck next time
  3. Dell has delivered!!!!! Two Words "Blazing FAST!!!!!!!!!" 34 part Assembly Fixture used to take about 45 seconds to 80 seconds, now takes 5 seconds. That is opening. Editing Visual Meshes on Complex Part about a minute now 12 seconds. NICE!!!!!!!! I do gave a few things though. The right mouse button seems a little sticky or loose and the touch pad needs a little tweaking. This baby has a Joy Stick too. So far sooooo good . Now waiting for X3, then the Bench Test. This should be very interesting. As a note there is no Anti-Virus running on this PC with only the XP SP3 Fire Wall running. Looking at AGV Anti-Virus as an option. BTW: there are 59 Processes Running in the Background. I need to do some cleaning, LOL.
  4. Do you have the M4400??? I would have preferred the M90, but it is no longer in Production.
  5. Beast Pricing $2,838 plus NY Tax $248.16, S&H $39.00 Total= $3,125.16 Not too bad. Same configuration from XI Computer Corp. without the Damage/Theft Coverage was about $800 more. IMPO DELL makes a great PC. This one makes 5 since 2002 and they all still work without problems. DELL PC's Smart Step 200N 6years old Dimension 4700 4 years old Inspiron 1501 1 year old Inspiron 1520 11 months old Precision M4400 not here yet I like the idea of Tracking and Recovery.
  6. I just read your Home page from the link in your signature. This valuable information is probably used buy about 5% for the entire Machining field. Everyone is in a rush or were never taught the basics. They place tools in spindles with chips, high spots, and grim on the Tapers, yikes!!!!!! These basics are the most important. LOL, I get frowned upon for performing these basics, but all my parts come out within spec. Not to mention my equipment is in far better shape and runs better. RUSH,RUSH,RUSH,RUSH,RUSH! Cutting Corners is prone to have problems. Good Set-Ups, Good Planning, and Good Programs equals Good Parts!!! Cheers!!!!!!!
  7. Dell sends a Shipped Status email when you sign up for it in your account. It shipped 10/24/08 2nd Business Day. Will be here Monday!!!! This is the best Lap Top PC (most expensive too) I have ever ordered. Ever since the Cadlyst review of the Dell Precision M90 it has been eye candy. Now there is one on the way. Most of the jobs I have worked at use regular PC's to run software. This is like going from a Manual Bridgeport to a 5 Axis CNC Mill. This is all very exciting for me so I wanted to make sure MCX3 got a suitable professional PC to Run on. Can you blame me???
  8. The New Dell Precision should be arriving Monday!!!! This Lap Top better SCREAM running CAD/CAM. First test will be using Alibre V11 SP1, then MCX3 when it arrives. This is going to be fun!!!!
  9. Hey Al, nice to see you helping out over here as well as at the office.
  10. Where is the Mastercam Swag Area????? Arrrrrrr!!!!! I Need Me Swag!!!!!!! Seriously, there should be a Mastercam Store with T-Shirts, Hats, Cups, Pens, Notepads, etc.
  11. Bought the Dell Precision M4400 Here are the Specs with a lot of good advise from you guys. Thanks for your help in this purchase. This should do well with X3. 12. Axis : Nice to see you here too. This forum is great for technical stuff like this MP language. I upgraded to X2mr2, but I still need 9.1sp1 for work, so I'll be learning X2 at home. Maybe in time I'll have more to offer on the X transition from 9 in the CNC Zone soon. You can call me Toby, LOL. Sounds like your going to be having Fun Learning!!! I will have tons of that when my software and sim for X3 arrive from Cimquest. This site is the best for MC on the net so absorb as much as you can from the Masters of Mastercam. Cheers!!!
  13. Axis ---I wish I had macro B. This is a yasnac I80 control on a Matsuura mc510-vf. The G13's were an option for the control, but no macros that I am aware of. The control ignores any line beginning with #. I'm just trying to define a few cutom drill cycles to output the G13'3 so I don't have to make manual edits so often. _______________________________________________ I hear that. The only two Yasnac controls I ever used were an MX2 Mill and LX1 lathe. Great controls with lots of options for canned cycles. It looks like your winning this battle and in time it will be done. BTW: I am tobyaxis on CNC Zone, LOL. Nice to see you here and welcome to the official MC Forum
  14. I forgot about these but they work. Got them straight from the Bridgeport guy for a Fanuc 0i-MC barely a year old. I hope this can help at least a little. 15. I use a Targus bag for USB's and Dongle for Predator Virtual CNC. It fits the Belkin HUB 4 port too. The bag is black velvet with a draw string.
  16. Aren't they making the SIM's smaller now, and red not black?? That is quite the collection you have. Any chance you want to part with any of it, LOL BTW: You have mail
  17. Do you need new shoes?? What is your shoe size??? LOL. I can see that and maybe IMTS next year in Chicago. BTW: How in the world do you get a Mastercam Coffee Cup??? My job got a mouse pad, but I want a Coffee Cup or maybe a Sippy Cup .
  18. That setup is SWEEEEET!!!!!!!!!! Now you know I will be picking your brain as much as possible when the Software arrives, LOL. 19. Jay large screens are nice. For a while I was using the 32" HDMI Flat Screen TV for Alibre. What a picture, and the little woman didn't mind at all. LOL, BobScrap/Crap didn't make the cut so it never saw the 32". Though Alibre CAM got a few tests. X3 is going to set the Living Room on Fire Bogusmill, Thanks for the heads up between the 32/64 bit systems.
  20. Ok I'll go for the FX1700 Graphics card and the 4Gigs in Ram. But another question arose. 32 bit system or 64 bit system????? This has me stumped. I am also looking at the M6300 now.
  21. How well will this Lap Top run X3 in the toughest most complex part programs?? 22. I am training at a friends shop with V8 and V9. I am still very new to MC but remember someone saying that there is a way to select a Starting Point. Have you tried that yet? If this is wrong, it's Rekd's fault, LOL. How different is V8 and V9 compared to X?
