  1. The morph betwwen curves tool path is following curve but not slight undercut around the corner. I posted a picture. THe toolpath is peeling that corner back to the other side of the curve. I have a lollipop as my tool .I woukd have thought that this would follow the surface undercut.
  2. Having trouble finding 18 mm carbide ball mill or indexable. Anyone know of a go to place for this. Ever
  3. Does anyone use rest rough for there finish toolpath ?
  4. We are going to start employee evaluations. Does anyone have any good sample forms. Job shop related? Thanks. Does anyone do employer evaluations also ?
  5. Happy Friday I'm having trouble finding a 15 mm dia carbide ball mill . Must be a odd size. Does anyone know of a company that stocks some special diameters on the shelf. Thanks
  6. mu2 . I will check to see if I have stock model . I do on a level but not sure if I got it selected correctly.
  7. Yes mill level three with multi axis . Just upgraded a couple days ago to 7 with net hasp set-up
  8. Hi I'm trying to use the trim to stock function with the 5 axis curve toolpath but I cant enable the button. How do I activate it. I tried setting it in the previous op. and also in the stock setup using a solid model. Thanks
  9. Hello. Is the a easy way to create a plunge tool path that would wrap around a cylinder. EX. plunge to depth index say 5 deg plunge to depth w/o having to create a tool plane every angle?
  10. I changed to smaller tool diameter and that worked. The slot as a varying radii in the corner . That is why I dont believe i can finish with this tool path just rough. Is this a correct assumption?
  11. My 5 axis curve toolpath is jumping up i certain areas. I'm driving the centerline . I dont understand why its not saying down. Surface norms are good.
  12. I used the check surfaces and that helped alot. Still trying to tweak is som more. My plane right not is to rough out down the middle with curve set to 4th axis output. then use the morph to finish .The crunch time with the check surfaces added is pretty long I noticed.
  13. Too big to post here. I.ve tried different settings but not getting the path to stay in channel
  14. The tool looks like its gouging walls on the od channel in a few areas. I don't know why it is not staying between by two curves. I'm set to 4 axis output. B axis horizontal. I put file on FTP (31620-01001-spiral)
  15. Not sure . Will iges give me a centerline
  16. Would morph between to curves be a better option without a good centerline to drive
  17. Not having much luck . I been trying to use the 3d curves with the 5 axis curve toopath set to 4 axis output. the curves make up the top profile of the spiral slot. Now I'm wonder if I need to create a curve on the center of spiral slot and drive this. Thats my next question. I tried using flowline curve the seems to give me a center line to drive but each surface center lines do no line up. Is there a easy way to create center line to drive my tool path? Thanks heavy
  18. I uploaded this file 31620-10010-spiral to FTP. I have isolated the 3d curves. I'm using 5 axis curve toolpath set to 4th axis output and having trouble with the tool offsetting to the inside wall. I have tried the radial offset option and it locks up. Also tried some othe things but not getting the path I want. If someone has a idea I'm all ears. Thanks Heavy
  19. AlbertZini no not my part looks similar though. I'm still waiting on material . lol
  20. Crazy. I do have the x7 home learning edition. It came with some on demand classes I bought for multaxis.
  21. How good does my 3d curves have to be. The model has a lot over overlapping geo. Is there a quick way to tighten this up ?
  22. Hello Just got this part to program . I have done some cams and 4 axiis sub. toolpaths but this one is going to be tougher. I was thinking that 5 axis surface toolpath output as 4 axis. Anyone who has had experience with this type of cut.WHat would be the best 5axis path to start with. Thanks Heavy
  23. Just want some opinions on the skill level and 5 axis experience to do this part from some of the 5 axis guru's Thanks Heavy 453-5435.MCX-5
