  1. We really need some on-site programming help at our shop. We are a large shop in Livermore CA and are having a hard time finding any qualified people and the jobs are backing up. Great pay and benefits for the right people. Anyone intersted?
  2. I got it. DOH! My attributes manager was somehow set to send them to a different level. I never set this so I am guessing it happened when i imported a solid in.
  3. For some reason my solid creation has stopped working. I create a solid. It shows in the solids manager but does not appear on the screen. I check my screen statistics and there is no solid. I can import in a solid and it's there. Any help? Im using X5 Thanks
  4. Seemed to be a problem with my PC unzipping that file. Got it unzipped and pasted the files into the folder, works great. I know I could use drafting to create my letter but we have 1000's of programs that have all been created with the fonts. I need it to work so i can edit and update serial and rev levels without changing everything. Thanks Guys.
  5. Hi Guys, While I orginally posted this question abot X2 some time ago it seemms that X5 does not let me unzip the lowercase fonts in the same manner. Has anyone else had trouble with this? I keep getting error messages about the font files. Thanks for any help
  6. Thanks Guys, That is how I did it and it worked great. (It's what I wanted to try but was unsure if I would mess up another mandrel , so I thought I would ask first.) I found this little video on youtube It is exactly how they showed to do it.
  7. Thanks, I tried that on the first one. Problem I had is that the tapered bolt opens the very end of the mandrel and the ring I put towards the back really had no effect on keeping the front from opening all the way.
  8. Can anyone give me the best way to machine a 5C expandable mandrel on a CNC lathe. In the past I have put a ring on the end to hold it but this was with larger diameters. I need to machine it down to .750" and this just barely over the tapered bolt head size so a ring is not going to work.
  9. Thanks so much. It was so simple I was just totally missing it. I tried all kinds of stuff. Making it to hard I guess. Ken
  10. Hi everyone, Can someone give me a hint how i could add two blanks in between tools. When I force a blank it posts a block skip / Is it possible to do this? Thanks, Ken
  11. you know my MPMaster works great also and even after comparing the it against mine I am still unsure.
  12. Thanks guys, I usually do pretty good on stuff like this and have not had to make any edits to my post for quite a few months now. its funny how much you forget in a few months.
  13. I would like my manual entry to come out in between my tool changes. It currently will come out after the first line of the next tool. What designation calls up the Manual entry comment? how do I need to place it so it will be in the right spot? This is how it currently posts code: M01 (************) N29G00G40G80G90G98 (SPOT HOLE) G06T29(1/4-90 SPOT DRILL) (*) G53Z0 G54B75. (*) X-7.4292Y2.82S2500M03T109 Z12.1M08 G81G61G98Z8.88R9.2F10. 14. Yes we tried everything mentioned and were only able to get it to work with an M0 as mentioned above. Hopefully the tech will solve the issue.. (not feeling to confident about that tho..) thanks for all the input..
  15. Actually the G05.1 is giving us alarms also. Maybe there is another problem since all the other machines are running it fine and these two are not. I am out of the office today but will give it a shot tomorrow, thanks everyone. I will let you know what happens.
  16. thanks, the macro works perfectly in single block so we hope that this is the problem. It works great on 20 machines and will not on 2 of them. guess they must be the 2 fastest.. lol
  17. we tried the G08 and it did not work either. Said it was an invalid code.
  18. no the EOB's did not do it. We are going to try the dwell. Thanks
  19. good catch!! we have 22 of them I dont know why I cant get it right.. lol..
  20. Thanks, We are trying the EOB's now.. No, its not a toyoda its a Mori Robo drill
  21. I have a Fanuc 31i control, when I run a macro with a #3006 (program stop with message) the macro program will jump to the end of the program without finishing the remainder of the program. Haas has a similar problem and G103 will control this problem. My question is what parameters in the Fanuc control force the “look ahead off” mode? I have several other 31i controls that work fine, but two of my machines dont and I can not locate the parameters in the Fanuc book. Any fanuc experts out there?? thanks
  22. Pete, I sent you mail but the problem is fixed.. Not sure why the files were different but at any rate I am very grateful. Thanks so much!
  23. Pete, I was trying to register it because I had this same error before and I fixed it by registering the .dll I just went in thru the X utility and unregistered and re-registered the .dll (which was not working before) but I am still getting the "cant find parasolid data" error. I am using SW2008 and I cant open any .sldprt files. here is the size of the file and by the date i am guessing you mean the date it was signed by SW? 5.49 MB (5,760,544 bytes) Thursday, June 07, 2007 11:05:32 PM Thanks for your help on this.
