Pete,
I just spoke with out IT guy and he he said we are running the 32 bit version.
Do you have any recommendations on things I could try to resolve this?
Hi John,
yes I tried that and got the same error when doing it thru the utility "bad RC from dllregister server" and I tried it with the U in the command thru DOS and it said it cant find the file. I have done this a couple times before with no problems. this is a new issue and I am stumped.
I know this has been discussed many times here and I have searched and read all the threads. But I am running into a larger problem that goes deeper.
When i try to register the module it says it is not there. I can see the file "SwDocumentMgr.dll" and it is there and when I run
"regsvr32 swdocumentmgr.dll" it says its a bad command. If I try to register it thru the X utility in the control panel I get an error that says "bad RC from dllregister server"
can any help me with this?
Thanks

we do infact have a very nice pre-setter and run positive offsets on all our machines except the 20 robo-drills that use these drills??
I am not the one who is in charge of that area but when i asked why they werent using the presetter I was told they didnt want to walk to the tool room every time???
not a good reason if you ask me... presetter is the only way to go. our tool guy actually puts every drill up on the setter to ensure it does run true before it goes out there... go figure!!
We saw the one from MSC and really would like something smaller and very reliable. We are setting .008"-.012" drills on them.
How does everyone else do this?
does anyone know of a good touch indicator for setting tools that has a dial gauge on it?
Also who I could buy it from?
We have the ones with lites on them but some of our wont lite them up.
Thanks,
ken
I noticed my clearance, initial height and lead/in lead/out are all unchecked and set to 0.0 on every mach def I load, on both drilling and contours. I am almost positive this is in the configuration as it is in everything I open, I set this up before and it has never changed on me???
I think I am losing my mind here because for the life of me I cant figure out why this changed or where to reset it it at.... I think i might need some extra ginkgo!!! someone please humor me before I flip out.

I have always used the mastercam box font and engraved in uppercase letters but at my new place they want upper and lower case letters. I have discovered that even though I create my letters lower case mastercam will make them into upper case when I place them. If I pick a true font it will give me the lower case I need but they are double line letters. Spent awhile now trying to figure it out and did a search on the topic without much luck. Am I missing something here?
using MX2 MR2
thanks for any help.
Changing the engraving in MC is the easy part. Not to much trouble there. The real issue is that all these programs are in geopath and we have 1 programmer who uses geopath and he is swamped (as we all are) and is constantly getting interrupted to update engraving. We are looking for something that is easily usable at the machine or on the shop floor for the average (and I do mean average) operator.
IMHO this is not an easy fix (time and resource wise, its not going to take care of itself) and will take some effort from someone with some skill to ensure that it is correct no matter what software we are using.
Thanks for the input guys? I had similar concerns when I was asked to look into this. As I said we already have one that works great in a straight line and use it all the time.
We just acquired alot of new parts from a shop we merged with and alot of their engraving is arced or on a part edge and programmed in geopath. So this creates alot of work for changing these things.
Any ideas on an easy route to take with this?
can anyone help with a custom engraving macro?
we have one that will do the serialization and juliane info but would like to be able to add in an arc or onto a curved even surface.
we are willing to pay for it if someone could tell me where we should look..
thanks
I have another question about the aggregate head,
when you use this function would it switch the numbers (in my case it would be Z and Y) or just post out G18?
Would anyone be gracious enough to let me peek at a sample of a right angle head in a horizontal spindle that is set up to cut parallel to the table?
I know its alot to ask but I am soooo stuck and the pressure is on over here, I am buried and dont have time to mess around to much longer before I will have to do the unthinkable! yes you got it!! HAND EDIT!!
I feel so cheap!!
