  1. Thanks, I was reading search strings and I was under the impression I needed to do this. I have it set up in my mach def and am using a newer post. I am a little unsure of why its not working but am sure i have alot to learn about this.. Do I have to change MR2 from zero? I dont know why I cant get on the FTP site either. I was going to look for a sample. Thanks again and I will keep trying with the set up I have and not worry about the c-hook. Ken [ 06-18-2008, 06:57 PM: Message edited by: kenfromlodi ]
  2. When I try to run the c-hook Aggregat.dll I get this error. "version 9 aggregate toolpaths cannot be edited....blah blah blahh!!" I dont understand why since I loaded X2MR2 right from the disc on a fresh system and have never had V9 installed on here. Can someone help me out on this one?
  3. I see now how I got off track. the original post was not you Phil but EZ3PUTT and he did say no live tooling. Sorry I went round and round with ya.
  4. Then It will keep changing.. as far as I know there is no fix for that at the present time. I have the same issues when programming live tooling.. sucks!
  5. Phil you said you didnt need to be in any other plane but D+ Z+. if your planes are set to update when the view changes turn it off. Then it should stay in d and z in all the views as long as you dont change the plane.
  6. If the machine def it set it does all the changing for you when you define the machine. mill/turn will switch it when picking mill tool paths and will not change it back automatically but Phil says he is only doing 2 axis turning.
  7. Yes, it shows d and z the entire time in every view and never changed to x or y. I have had my lathe definitions set like this for over a year that I have been using X and it works great. my guess is something is not saving your settings. give a few trys if you want because I know it works.
  8. Very strange because I just did it on the default lathe machine def and it worked great. never changed back once and I went thru all the views. are you changing the machine def thru the ops manager or the setting tab on top? it needs to be thru the settings tab on top.
  9. Phil If you set your settings as I said in my earlier post it will fix this problem.
  10. I think it might cause a problem with the tool digging in on the od if you were breaking the edge. I have seen this also so I just draw my geometry to the size I want.
  11. go to machine defintion and then go in the edit general machine parameters and click on the c/plane- t/plane tab and set it to D+/Z+ it will always start up there. hope that helps
  12. Thanks for the offer Pete but I think it something with this computer. I use X2MR2 and one of the other programmers uses V9 and is having the problem. When I open the file on my computer in V9 it separates the levels just as they were but his wont. We even scrounged up the install disc and completely removed and re-installed V9.1 on his system and still get the problem. Not exactly sure what is going on but I believe if he went to X2MR2 that he would no longer have an issue. So at this point I would guess he has to deal with it.
  13. tthey are just dxf files. I will check it out. it is in version 9
  14. I didnt have a chance to read it all either but didnt see anything that jumped out at me. I will give it a good look tonight also.. Thanks
  15. Thanks Kannon, I the problem we are having here is not so much getting the names to come thru but one of our seats is putting everything brought in onto one level. All of our other seats will separate them. I was thinking there must be a box unchecked somewhere or something.
  16. In version 9 where is the setting for an imported file to retain the original levels?
  17. Thanks alot John this is just what I was looking for! The manual that came with the machine is not even close to explaining how to be able to preform this procedure. I'll give it a shot. and oh BTW TRAILER PARK BOYS RULE!! Ken
  18. Oh you didnt mention it was an 84 hour week.. Thats your problem right there!! J/K if you hadnt sent the file to John to look at I would have had my doubts tho. get some R&R
  19. I have similar problems on occasion and would start over with a new file and it would work. Must be a bug.
  20. If your depth of cut for the roughing is larger than the step it could be omitting it and leaving it for the finish pass. Just a thought.
  21. I was looking at a version X post. He told me his was 4 also so Im pretty sure he has the new MPLMaster so let me check that with him. Thanks.
  22. Ok that will help him in tracking it down. Thanks John. Have a good weekend. (rest of it anyhow.) One more quick question if you could humor me? on a manual entry I would like it to come out on the line right after the sequence number and not have the start up safety codes in between it and the sequence number example code: N1 G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90 M0(CHANGE INSERTS) <---I would like this manual entry between the first and second lines. What do need to change. Spent quite awhile on it with no luck. Thanks Again. Ken [ 04-20-2008, 04:48 PM: Message edited by: kenfromlodi ]
  23. I got it. Its 21 in the mill post and 4 in the lathe post. The thing is its doing it on all the lathe post but 1. so unless someone changed them all (highly unlikely) it is something else.
  24. I feel that way too but he is a friend so all company feelings aside I wanted to help him. I was really hoping they would not think I did something or even worse that I was just editing my code every time!! I was the only one there ever to get the lathe programs source correct every time, no matter how long it took me My fmt number is 4 and it does not put decimals and that is what he said he has. What is the 21?
