generaly thompson shafting have a thick chrome layer
the first cut must be under this layer
after it's like 4140ht
thomson shafting is noting compare to flame cut stellite!! 5sfm and the chip is red hot

and lenght also must be over 50%
okuma dont leave you a chance for radius .0001 off and you got a cutter comp. alarm!

.035 deep 375ipm 1500rpm full cut (ramping) in 4340ht

and NEVER change direction without a radius of less than .125

i had this when i bought the feed mill
(for hi speed machining that's the tool!!!)
i made a small searh on the forum and i found noting about my problem
i always ad an "evil box" that box change places every time i open the stock set up dialog box
i use X2 MR1
clic to enlarge (look in the oval!!)

why don't make small rad like .005 to .01 larger than tool radius
it will make a big difference and the tool don't make a big skweek noise when cornering!!
