  1. Actually, I had already read about the solid rubber propellant. Burning rubber and nitrous oxide. Sounds like those So. Cal street racers have infiltrated the space race. The comment about the uranium T-38 explosive space modulator was a little joke (though apparently lacking in the critical element of humor.) I was refering to the giant lazer Marvin the Martian was going to use to blow up the Earth ("It's blocking my view of Venus.") BTW, Camdude, I used to have Marvin as a hood ornament on my truck.
  2. I hear the Space Plane was powered by a uranium T-38 explosive space modulator.
  3. Try checking all of your toolpath tolerances and make sure they are consistent.
  4. John, My daughter's Girl Scout troop made flannel blankets which they sent to soldiers over there (though they may not be needed in August!) My mother-in-law has 'adopted' a soldier that she sends care packages to. There's another group here that has started a 'Socks for Soldiers' program. John, everyone on this Forum knows that I have had a lot of doubts about the reasons given for going to war, but I want you to know that we ALL support our troops, and we hope and pray for your speedy and healthy return. I thank you and honor you for your courage and your selfless service to our country. Please write again when you get a chance, and be sure to let us know when you have returned, safe and sound.
  5. The funny thing is, the Space Plane looks kinda like the rocket you got Marvin riding on! I'm just glad this thing went better than the military's 'autonomous vehicle' fiasco last month. I really had high hopes for that one!
  6. We need some rules to this competition: I just checked and noticed that John Spangler started Farnheit 9/11 on June 14th at 1:22pm. Chris Moffatt started Forum Roll Call on the same day at 11:36pm, so 9/11 has a 10 hour, 14 minute head start. I suggest that Dave lock each topic after exactly 10 days (at their respective times on June 24th). Now what kind of prize could there be? I got it! How 'bout if 9/11 wins, then James, Rek'd, Code Breaker, and A-ron all have to go see it on the 25th (opening night). And if Roll Call wins, then John, Jack, Craig (Westgate Hardwoods) and I all have to not see it or, perhaps, read a right-wing conservative rant book chosen by James and all.
  7. Disneyland, Rocky Mountains, Boundary Waters,... and haggis. Boy there's a wealth of options to choose from. I'd better get off my xxxx and make some plans before summer slips away!
  8. What did you do on your summer vacation? Jack, summer starts tomorrow! Ask me in September!
  9. I just posted on the 'Farenheit 9/11 thread, then saw that it was ahead by one (151 to 150). Now I'm posting here to show that I, too, can be "Fair and Balanced."
  10. Jimmy, What kind of router/capabilities do you have? I do programming primarily for wood (particularly guitar companies), and am always looking for sources to have parts made.
  11. Hey, let's start a new thread about Clinton's new book! THAT oughta get a few posts!
  12. +1 to Gilberto's tips. Also, if you are having trouble getting a 'water tight' set of surfaces from someone else's drawings, try extending them so they intersect, then trimming to each other. You can get some pretty complex solids from individual surfaces.
  13. Sorry pal, You gave her ammo for years to come. +1,000! When you least expect it, expect it! Like Bogie said: "If your anniversary comes up and you're not on top of it, you'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life."
  14. To the extent by which I can be positive of anything other than my own insignificant existence, I believe myself to be here. Cogito sum, ergo, um. (I think I am, therefore,.. um... But I could be wrong)
  15. sworks and trode Isn't that from 'Jabberwocky?'
  16. Thanks, Brent. I'll look into it.
  17. I would like to be able to save the 'verify' as a video. I would also like to be able to dynamically rotate an image and save that as video. Will SnagIt do that?
  18. I set a keyboard shortcut for 'screen to clipboard' so I can use it with verify. I paste pictures of each toolpath into my setup sheets, so the operator can see exactly what each tool is going to do. Worth 1,000 words, y'know...
  19. What I'll never, ever understand about the whole PeeWee/theater incident is how a successful film and TV star couldn't afford a VCR.
  20. Code-Breaker, Your list of terrorist events is incomplete. What about Oklahoma City? What about Columbine? What about the Atlanta Summer Olympics, abortion clinics, the Earth Liberation Front, the Manson Family, the KKK, the SLA, the Weather Underground, etc, etc? If we cast the net a little further, we find that what we are really looking for is "male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40." Unfortunately, it is difficult to use "extremists" as a factor for profiling (they tend to go incognito). I think we should just profile all males between the ages of 17 and 40. That ought to do it. Additionally, when you talk of using "muslim" as a profiling factor, you are talking about the most populous religion in the world (and growing). Internationally, you would be looking at perhaps 1 out of every 4 people. This is a terribly inefficient way to 'profile', as it doesn't effectively weed out your pool of suspects. Even more problematic (for profiling) is that not all muslims look alike. There are many Arabic or middle-eastern looking people who are not Muslim, and many white, black, asian or hispanic people who are. How do we know who is who? Should we make them wear a badge of some kind, so security personnel can tell? [ 06-12-2004, 07:49 PM: Message edited by: Mark Lovelace ]
  21. Jack, I see that they have hi-jacked your O/T thread, and made it CNC-related. Can they do that?
  22. Jeepers, Jack! Can't find a nice, controversial topic to rile people up? How 'bout if we poor, beleaguered Amuricans, tired of bein' picked on and criticized by the rest of the world, start a list of everything that's wrong with Canada? I'll start the bidding with 'Celine Dion' Hope that helps!
  23. Hockey in Florida. What a concept. I remember when Wayne Gretzky retired, a commentator was pondering the question of who had been the bigger influence on their sport; Gretzky or Michael Jordan. He said "Let me put it this way: They play hockey in Texas, now!" I moved out of San Jose before the Sharks came to town, and I still can't grasp the idea of a hockey team there.
  24. I immediately thought of Greenspan when I read Code Breaker's comment "When they spoke, EF Hutton stopped and listened." If Greenspan so much as sneezes it can have a catastrophic effect on the stock market. Bush has wisely asked him to stay on indefinitely.
  25. or as the Liberals would say "Voodoo Economics" James, I'm sure you must be aware that the term 'voodoo economics' was coined by that well-known 'liberal' George HW Bush.
