  1. What machine and year? If it's an old machine, getting the post dialed in could be a pain. The newer versions run best with XP. If your going to upgrade your computer, comunicating with RS232 might need some attention too. Good luck!
  2. The tip might be clogging heating up and possibly melting the plastic a little. Just my guess. Good luck I think Motorcity's idea would be the fastest.
  3. CNC Apps Guy, Thank you This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping to get. SIG
  4. I was wrong theres 15 block look ahead standard and 40 is the upgrade for $4,800.
  5. I'am trying to decide if I should spend 6 thousands on look ahead. I think I have 40 blocks of look ahead standard and adding would get me 180. I've got a job that has 250 hrs. of surfacing. I've programed F70 but never gets over F55 and averages about F30. How much faster would my machine cut with the added look ahead?
  6. Dragracer... your quote probably includes all the goodies. It seems like 100 thou in extras is common?
  7. Does anyone know what a 400mm kitamura goes for?
  8. 1 Master My range is under $280. Probing, tool setter, scales, high rpm, extra tools.
  9. No, only the two. I wish I could get a price on these machines without having a sale person come to the shop. We are so busy and I would like to see if its something I can afford before I take the time and go over all the options.
  10. For those that have experience with doosan. I'am thinking about an HP4000 for aluminum surfacing 24/7 balls out for about 8 months. Do you think the doosan is dependable enough? 14000 rpm seems a little low. I like to hold .001 on most cuts. I know most like makino, but I think there's a 100 thou difference.(a51, yea I looked) Any feed back would help SIG
  11. Now I don't feel as bad. I complained about a Doosan with 7tenths.The service guy came out with a ball bar, servo tuning and two 4 hr days of messing with it. 4 tenths max TIR at F30.
  12. Thanks for your respected opinion.
  13. What brand of machine is this? I would consider just adding scales if your machine can already hold tol. Is your shop temp controlled? Do you have more error in Y than X?
  14. Are we talking twice the speed?
  15. We are thinking about an a51 as well. 100% 6061 aluminum surfacing. We use a doosan 8000rpm Oi control to make these parts now but the orders keep getting larger. How much faster would an a51 be? The parts take 12hrs now all surfacing.
  16. I got it to work with Miscellaneous Integers. Thanks guy. My next prob is the control wants to see a G49 before G05.1. It works for the first tool but if am drilling first then milling down the line it wont work. Can I add G49 then G05.1 then G43.in my post?
  17. Hi all, I am trying to add look ahead code to V9 MPmaster post.I can not find info for V9. Has anyone done this? Thank SIG

    Arc problem

I can over lap but I was wondering why is this happening? Is the accuracy being compromised at other areas of a simple contour? I have tried different size leadin/out moves. I have checked backlash and the entry is at 45 deg. Thanks for the replys
  19. Fanuc Oi-mc. The program I am using has been checked but maybe I am missing a code to cut accurately. On an entry/exit arc the machine seems to start the next block before completing the first. Its leaving a .001 bump (stock on) while side cutting a standing boss. I am not using cutter comp just G1, G2/3 w/ I & Js. Does any one know whats happening and how to fix it? I need to cut shut off rad's and I am not sure how to do it without using exact stop which would leave a dwell mark? Thanks. I know its not an MC ?, but people on this site seem to know alot about fanuc controls.
  20. The exact thing happened to me 3 weeks ago. The cause was my arc geo was not broken at 180deg and I was posting w/ R value. SIG
  21. I too tried to get there info. In one place deep in there web site about collets I think I found there phone #. When I called them I told them they should up date there site with easy access contact info. I though they were American made, But a sales person from a local dist. told me they have a plant in Taiwan. I still bought them. I just try to buy American and I was under the impression these were. They seem to be well made.
