  1. [it makes me happy that you like the one-loc, I did the prototyping( most of programming and machining) of it when I worked at Chick. I used mastercam x and x2 for all the programming of it! Paul, Rex (the owners) and Jeff( engineer) were great team to work for. One thing about Chick if you have trouble with there products and you can talk to Paul and get it worked out, not just some salesperson. Last thing I can say it was the most fun I had in 35 years of being in the machine trade doing the One-Loc! The company I work for now and before I went Chick, Cygnusm was fonded by Rex and his bother so they been in this trade for over 45 years. Great job on your work with the Chick vise sollman!!! I let them know I wish they made a 8" One-Lok... Thanks
  2. Hello, I have X5 latest updates... How do I make post processing default to overwrite and edit? I have tried the options doesn't seam to stay.. Also where do I set the defaults for tool parameters... like when I pick a tool I want it to stay with WCS 0 G54 and coolant on M08 with...Or is this only saved and controlled in the tools? Thanks
  3. Hello, I have a mpmaster post for my X5 that posts two M00's when I use canned text add after with #1 M00... It works fine with add with and add before...It only post one M00 with these.. I have been trying to edit it to only post one but can't figure out what to change. I found the lines that posts the two M00's but making it post one is more difficult then I thought.... Thanks
  4. Wow cool thanks... worked perfect..Ref points... never used them..That was easy..
  5. Thanks for your help on this Chris...
  6. Thanks That works fine for a round hole..But I forgot to tell you that we have some ob-round holes and other shapes.. The pocket paths take way to long... Basically I need to take off .100 to .040 of the wall and then finish at different feed and speed..
  7. I have had this issue since I started using Mastercam...We use contour alot for quick effective metal removal.. We also use the same tool for rough and finish operations.. Is there any way to contour rough a hole with multi passes then keep tool down in the hole and change feeds and speeds for the finish contour pass without coming out of the hole? I know it seams like not much savings but after a few hundred holes the rapid up and down take its toll on time a machine wear.. We have hundreds of hole we do this with.. With the new technology of the high end end mills we rough at high speeds light radial cut and finish with same tool. Saves time and end mills this way.. Will X6 have this? Thanks
  8. Ok thanks for the info...I think what my problem is I want the second spindle to come over to my part before I part off the part... I have to select part transfer for this...Also if I don't define chuck jaws for back plot and verify it runs fine...But I still can't seam to get the second spindle to come over to the part before I part off... Is there a trick to this? I might do what Wes said and get the right codes and use a manual entry...The code for the turning part looks right.... Thanks
  9. Hello, I am having issues with part transfer and programming for second spindle...When I try to use a right handed tool it gives me a collision error..How do I create the correct stock for the second spindle (right) operations? It seams to keep the first (left) spindle stock values.. We have a Mazak 200-MSY with twin spindles....
  10. I have a MPmaster post that I edited for my Mazaks.. How do I change to G54.1 instead of just G54....I know to put o to 6 in the box for G54 to G59...But when I put 7 and up it only post G54.1 P1 not G54.1,.2,.3,.4,and so on.. Thanks
  11. Hello, I am building a post for our Mazak MSY's 200's & 250's we have..We only have used Mazatrol for part and spindle transfer...I know what the M codes are for part and spindle transfer...But I need a sample .eia code of what Mastercam X5 will post out for it.... Anyone have a sample of what it would look like?...My Mazak dealer says they have no sample of what Mastercam .eia would look like...He said all Cam softwares attack the part and spindle transfer all differently...I attached the M code list.. Thanks
  12. I have read that there is a way to have tooling manufactures tooling integrated in MX5....Iscar and others offer this..How to I get to these features? Or does the manufacture have to install something? Do they have models for all lathe and mill holders? Also models and speed & feeds for there turning and roughing cutters?
  13. I am developing a post for our Mazak 200-MSY and 250-MS... What exactly is involved with Mastercam as far as spindle part transfer from front to back spindle? Is it just select Misc Ops part transfer? Or do I need to have the parameters from my lathe before I can start? Thanks
  14. We have several different controls,Matrix,Nexus 640M, pcfusion 640M,
  15. Great thanks....That was easy.. I will have to edit my post for rigid tapping because it has to be a G84.2 not G84 & the M29 doesn't work with Mazak....Maybe I will just use rigid tapping only. It is nice to be able to have both. Mazak 1/4-20 standard tapping N1190 M03 S1000 N1200 G98 G84 Z1.825 R2.975 F.05 1/4-20 rigid tapping N1190 M03 S1000 N1200 G98 G84.2 Z1.825 R2.975 F.05
  16. What is the best way to change what my post outputs for tapping? Right now it is the standard 1 divided buy the # of threads x the rpm. But my Mazaks need feed per tooth or pith of the tap. So a 1/4-20 tap is .05. Thanks
  17. Great thanks for the info. It is for a Mazak 510c that has full 4 th axis capabilities. I have X5 with 5 axis. I will try these. I might need some advice on how to do these since I haven't done alot of helix's or much 5 axis stuff with MasterCam. Most my 5 axis stuff is with Espirt and Unigrahics. Thanks
  18. Is it possible to use a end mill on a vertical and part off a part with the 4th axis spinning while the end mill only moves down in Z? Hope this makes sense. Kind of like parting of a part in a lathe but using a end mill and the 4th axis is the lathe chuck. Would I have to make a Z 3D tool path for this? How would I make the 4th axis keep spinning? Thanks
  19. Good idea Chris. I will try both ramping and full depth cut multi passes to see the time difference. I have definitely decided to get a spindle speeder. We got another job running 100's of .025 drill holes... I can use it on also.
  20. I haven't yet run my new program which only has one pass. The old program goes through all 32 parts rough and then goes back and finishes all of them. It runs on a vacuum fixture that he loads will it is running. So the lost time is the two passes I think. My program will just have one pass at full depth with 3 or 4 .015 multi passes and be done. The times he gave me aren't adding up right...I will have to watch it closer or run it my self to see exact times.
  21. The depth of the pocket is about .300. A stubby 1/8 is under a .250 loc. So I need a .375 loc of cut to machine a full depth. We are using coolant. Not through spindle.
