  1. I have call and talked to our Distributor about editing our post so it will give me a program tacked on to the end of the main program that will talk all the tool info from the main program and give me a program to run all the tool on the Renishaw tool setter for lenght and diameter. Does anyone already have anything like that out there? May save Alex some time.
  2. Has anyone ever tried to use the vertical mill as a Lathe? By chucking the part in the spindle.
  3. Thanks for the reply. I would like to here from some people the have a Romer also. Or does everyone have Faro?
  4. Ok guys give me the good and bad of both. We have had both demostated and I like some of the feature of the Romer but I have heard that they are broke down more than the are working. We are going to have to make a disision soon on what one to choose.
  5. Del This is the first place I looked and the setting are right. Eric Yes the enitities being move are the ones that are assocated to the diminsions. I have found the with my solid turned on that the diminsions and diminsioning the geo. When you move the enitity the diminsion will not up date. But if you turn the solid off and diminsion it when you move the enitity it will up date the diminsion.
  6. I have got this to work on one file but the next file it doesn't? Please help! I go though and diminsion my part. The cut outs on the part are constantly changing. When I xform translate the enitity that is changing it will up-date the diminsion. Sometime the assocativity is there and sometime it is not.
  7. We have a Komo mill that does this from time to time and all we do is power the control down and hold the "P" and cancle bottom down and power the control back up. Thne home the machine and it takes care of the problem.
  8. Are you using a tool setter? We use a tool setter and the length from the spindle nose to the tip of the tool is in the tool length offset as a positive number. In "G54" we touch the nose of the spindle off the top of the part if thats where "Z" datum is and everthing works fine.
  9. Has anyone loaded the videos from the mastercam site and tried to watch them? I had to try and load new media player and I am having trouble loading it.
  10. Where are you from? Our service people for our Johnford is Superior Equipment Solutions in Springboro, Ohio. There number is 937-704-0357. We have had really good luck with them. Ask for Andie Raider. Tell he Tod sent you there. What is it doing?
  11. Thanks for all your comments I am sure we are going with a Faro arm and the verisurf software. I tought everyone was on board with it and they was going to make a dicision last week but i don't think that happened. So here we go agian don't hold your breath.
  12. Ok everyone I need some help and need it fast. Our company is looking into a CMM to Reverse Engineering and inspect parts. We preform c-checks on DC-9 DC-8 and B767 aircraft. We need to be able to Reverse Engineering parts that are not avalable and have limited drawing info. This is something that the people in our machine shop has pushed for for years. My question to you is. What type of equipment do you find is the best for this and what is the best software to take that data and create a solid model with the least amount of work? We want fast and easy.
  13. My question to everyone that this has happend to is are you saving to the hard drive on the computer or a network?
  14. when we bought our KOMO, refurbished by KOMO, the spindle had similar damage. We had an outfit come and regrind the taper on the machine, took a couple hours. Of course this would only work if the bearing are still good. Im sure there is some one close to you that does the same.
  15. Thanks everyone we are making some head way. For drilling we used a speed bore bit and a brad piont bit like you woulr drill wood with. They worked great! For milling we are using a 1/8 double cut carbide burring tool running as fast as the old machine will run, and cutting the out side then milling the middle out. Seem to be working so far.
  16. We have some material called Bun. P/N is R-310-V. We are trying to drill and mill it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  17. You will probably have to go to you resaler to get that it is not on the mastercam web site.
  18. Does any one have a quote form for quoting outside work in exel or anything for that matter
  19. Good morning it's Monday already. I have this part that I am trying to verify and I need some help with it. This part has four different set-ups. So when I finish the first one in verify I am saving the stl file and doing a xform stl and translating and rotating it to get it in position for the next operation. This one here I am doing in XMR2. When I verify I am verifying in display tool and saving it. It seem to save your stl file better that way. But to compare to stl file you have to be in turbo mode. The first two set-ups verified and compared just fine but when I rotated and translated for the third set-up it look like the chamfer on the end of the part isn't even right. Even in the display tool mode. And when you in the turbo mode and do a compare it looks really bad. What can we do to fix this problem? Computer spec. is Pentium 4 2.0 GHz with 1.0 GHz of Ram with a NVIDA GeForce4 MX 440 graphic card. The display Properties are set at 1152 by 864 pixels and the Color quality is at highest (32 bit)
  20. Steve yes we do but I am not aloud to send the drawing they are proprietary.
  21. Does anyone have a software program that will compare Autocad to Mastercam and show the differances?
  22. Anyone have a sample program for a centriod control? A friend of my has had a machine for two years and it only has ten hours on it. I have been asked to help him out with it. I can sit down and read the manuals but you people on here are alway better the manuals. I also need to know if there is any special trick to setting it up? ("x" "y" and "z" and tool lengths.
