  1. I need to get a Hurco Ultimax post for a 3 axis mill. I downloaded one from my reseller but it does not like arcs, it also has an issue with drilling. I thought that the post would be about 95% there but it seems to need alot of work. I have used other softwares that acully had a poat editor for writing posts. I thank you in advance for any help. George
  2. Does anyone know of any sample files for Lathe? I am new to lathe and I am trying to pick a profile but it will not chain. Also what coordinate do you work from. The Lathe is a Hurco. Thanks in advance for any help.

  4. I don't know anything about c hooks but if you write down the moves you use to get the part in place then use the same moves to get the stl in place, you'll be set.
  5. Boggs, Go to the front view, transform stl, rotate 180 around the orgin, then save file. See if this works for ya.
  6. Rickster, I really liked the cad side, going from surfaces to solids was simple. The quick mill tool paths were nice. The biggest complaint with cam was the verify was so slow.
  7. I use transform stl. I write down how I move the part to run op 2 then use the same numbers to for transforming stl and it works really good otherwise your guessing but can get it close.

  9. They are a nice control once you get used to them. The conversationial programming is pretty nice.
  10. I haven't run a Heidenhain in awhile but I remember there being a way to stop the machine in a cut, change a tool and then it seems like there was a restore machine position function. This was on a Deckel Maho but I think it would be on any TNC530. I think you just had to go up a few lines in the program from where you stopped. I think there was a verify function that would show your stock. Are there any books that you can look stuff up? Are you programming at the machine? Do you run any ISO programs?
  11. That is just how Mastercam does it. I know Powermill does it the way you are wanting to just move/rotate the wcs. I had to get used to it at first but now that is all I know. Does it really matter wether you make wcs or views?

  13. I am trying to make up some soft jaws to hold a part, I want to Boolean remove my part from my solid jaws that I have modeled up. Is there a way to keep the part from disappearing when I remove the part? I think I could just make a copy of the part but it should be easier than that. Thanks for any help.
  14. I think that the only way you can use the stock to machine from is by using rest roughing tool paths. I know they will let you select a cad file to machine from. I could be wrong. I think this has come up before try doing a search on the forum for stl stock roughing and see what comes up.
  15. Do you have a cast model that you can save as an stl? Or can you make something up?
  16. So the .625 came up short along the green surface on both sides?
  17. Did it stop short to the plane that is a red dotted line like it was all one Z height or was it short along the whole edge of the surface? Could you spin the part a little more and show the tool path on the part?
  18. Yes, you would need to create an account. Try going into the depth limits and make your min. depth a bigger number and calc. to see what happens, I think if you mess with that you could get it to cut where you want it to.
  19. You have to play with the start height settings to make the cutter start higher or go lower to get a full clean up on the surface.
  20. TheePres, I just wondered. I worked at a forging company that forged steel parts like connecting rods, drive yokes and other automotive parts. I kind of miss that type of work.
  21. TheePres Do you machine forging dies too or just forgings?
  22. We have chamfer bits that are inserted with a 45 deg. on top and bottom. So once we get the top tweaked in we can drop in and do the bottom of the hole. You have to watch how deep you go into the hole. We always use contour paths here, not sure how other people do it.
