  1. sweeet! that worked for me too. Thanks bullines!!!
  2. Jay... have you gotten enough to do the upgrade yet? I'm hoping you are working on it as I type because i can't seem to find the site for some reason when i click on the link above.
  3. I'd like to be able to write something using stick-letters (like you get with the drafting option) around an arc. How do i accomplish this using letters/truetype so i can specify an arc to create it around? i've tried the fonts that the book from Lin and Shiue suggested but still get block lettering. i'm using V8.1.1.
  4. jay.. did you get my contribution? josh
  5. jay... i've had no problems getting into the ftp. i was having trouble getting paypal to accept my password choices. for some reason, today it accepted and allowed me to sign up. so you should have received a donation on my behalf. i forgot to put my screen name on the email so it would have been from josh bisson.
  6. hey... what do you know, paypal worked today. anyways, you should have received an email on my behalf jay. thanks again for your time and expertise.
  7. thanks brendan but i've tried every character from a ) to a ! and everything in between. i just don't think paypal likes me ever since i gave them a false credit card number and suckered them out of thousands of dollars. j/k
  8. damn! i can't get paypal to go thru when i try signing up. it keeps saying to change my password using the characters shown but there are no characters shown! i've tried every possible combination with no luck. Jay... email me the address to send the money order and i'll get one on thursday when i get paid.
  9. if someone can explain how it works, i'll gladly donate.
  10. i know with mill it wont work unless you are comped to the left or right. could that be a possiblity? i've been frustrated by that one before.
  11. thanks paul! i'll give it a try. it worked! i took the back view and rotated it about z 180 degrees. now i'm wanting to change it to output -90 instead of 270. i think i saw that in the .pst file. [ 10-22-2004, 02:51 PM: Message edited by: biss03 ]
  12. thanks james... paul i think you are heading in the right direction. i've tried using the mpmaster and it outputs A-axis moves. my problem now is that i've got a part set up where i need to machine it in the top view (A0), the front view (A90), and the back view (A-90). the back view is the one giving me the problem. if i'm reading what you are saying correctly, i need to create a view using the bac view and rotate it 180 degrees so that the x-axis is pointing in the same direction. is that the jist of what you are getting at?
  13. mayday... thanks for the response. its not a big deal really. its just that my boss is the original programmer at this company and his name happens to be on the sign! we needed to make sure all the programs are consistent (which i think is a good thing) and this would be the easiest way for me to accomplish it (rather than reprogram all the programs from the last 15 years that have been written and retrain the setup guys on how to understand them). no big deal really. james.... check your email when you get a moment. thanks
  14. Chris... check your email. i just sent it. thanks! james... this post is tweaked with all the little nuances of how the boss likes the programs to be written. a lot of it I changed myself but it was awhile ago and i don't spend a whole lot of time editing posts. I was hoping this would be a simple tweak. if not, then i'm all for starting over with the mpmaster and having someone modify it for me! thanks for input guys!
  15. I have a Haas post that has been tweaked many years ago that works great - with one exception. when i try to machine in different workplanes, it says single axis only and doesn't output the A-drive rotations. so i decided to give post editing a try - bad idea. fortuneately, i backed up the original before cutting into it. it was soo screwed up after i got done with it to the point where Mastercam would simply ignore me when i tried using it. so i burned it in the can and am now asking my favorite forum members a question. Is this something that is simple to add to the post i have? If yes, would someone be willing to help me out? If no, would someone be willing to help me out for a fee? I can send the post and the program i'm trying to get it working on for an example. I'm currently running V8.1.1 of Mastercam. thanks in advance for not me!
  16. no masking is being used in the levels area. when i convert it to iges, i don't get to choose anything other than the name it is being saved under.
  17. I don't have the proe converter.
  18. don't know what masking is, so its probably not being used.
  19. all the levels i wanted him to see were visible before converting.
  20. I have a model that was imported into Mastercam originally as an IGES file from Pro-E. I don't have solids so the model came in as surfaces. I've made some changes and converted the file out as an IGES to send to the customer so they can view them by translating into Pro-E. When he tries to open it, all he gets is a 2-D drawing rather than a model. I'm using V8.1.1. any suggestions on why this might be happening? i've never tried this before. I even opened the IGES file in AutoVue on my PC and it looks like a model. could it be a setting on his end in Pro-E? thanks, jsoh
  21. thanks again mayday! it worked great.
  22. thanks for the help mayday. I've sent an email to you. (thanks to you as well hardmill for the offer!)
  23. This is the first time i've been asked to open a step file and was wondering if someone could open it for me and translate to Mastercam? Obviously, if this becomes a regular occurance I wouldn't hesitate to buy the converter but don't want to make the purchase for a one time deal. If this goes against any policies, please forgive me and let me know. thanks, josh
  24. quote: VA Tech ahh another team with a player taking advantage of his fame (or should i say his brothers in this case). its such a shame, people with that much talent wasting it away because the good lord didn't bless them with a brain or common sense.
