  1. Yes, STOP ON COLLISION was checked on. I seem to remember in version 8 if the drill was rapiding down into material, it would give the "Stopped on Collision" message and stop the verify, and you could continue on if you wanted.
  2. JmParis, Yes, the clearance plane was set to absolute 2.00 retract was set to inc .1 top of stock set to inc zero. When I selected the actual drilling points though, one of the arcs was selected below the actual drilling start point causing the tool to want to start drilling 1.875 (rapid) into solid material. I realize that error is on my hands. I am just wondering why it did not show up in Mastercam Verify. Thanks,
  3. Good Morning, I have been working on a cavity plate which requires a few cavity pin holes. When I programmed the drilling operations I used incremental top of stock and retract when I verified the program it was fine.... at the the machine was a different story though. The center drill crashed into the cavity ruining the parting line. I noticed in the program that the R value was way too deep. I know I should be a little more diligent in checking the actual NC Code bur I thought Verify would pick a crash like that.... And yes I did have the Stop On Collision button on. Any Explanations? Or has this happened to anyone else? TIA Chris DiNardo MC9 VER 9.1 MR0105
  4. Good Morning, We have a VF-5 with a hard drive that is hooked up to the network and on each of our computers there is a mapped shortcut to that hard drive. Everything was fine up until yesterday when we couldn't see the hard drive any more from opur computers. It kept giving us an error saying that the drive could not be connected. Any body have any suggestions? TIA Chris DiNardo
  5. Actually I'm not sure if it did or not Jay.
  6. Good Morning, Just installed v9.1 lvl 3 MR0304 tried to use stl compare in turbo mode but the system keeps crashing on me..using Windows XP. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Thanks Chris DiNardo
  7. Good Morning When I check off "Load Template Borders" I'm wondering which title block mc8 file it is using and if I can go to them and customize the title block so it comes up the same every time for me. I do all my fixture design in MC so this would be handy if anyone could help me out. TIA Chris D.
  8. I am coming from Ottawa, going to Vancouver.
  9. Hey Phil, Nice catch, I'll be down that way in October with my wife and son so we can visit the wicked sister in law j/k I might try my hand at some fishing there. What's in season at that time? BTW never been to the west coast. Oh... and I tried applying the job setup values and they worked. thanks
  10. Thanks guys. I tried the retraction points in the reference points section and it worked. The only thing is is that you have to have defined before the toolpath is done. You can't apply it to existing toolpaths. Again, thank you for your help. Chris.
  11. I am trying to do an internal groove. I am successful in machining it but, the problem is that the grooving tool rapids into the internal diameter and cannot retract to Z.1 first before going home. Using lathe- groove 2 points. Any suggestions?
  12. I don't know if I'm crossing the boundaries here but just thought I'd ask anyway. If I am, then just let me know (politely please). I have tweaked the post to accomdate our repetition macros (G154). Right now, when I post a program the sub programs are posted together with the main program. Is there a switch in the post to (aux)? to post all the subs into each separate file? Thank you.
  13. Thank you Dave and Peter. I didn't mean to go over anyone's heads here. I know Peter and I talked on the phone about the multitask machining module available in the coming months. I just wanted to know if anyone out there had any similar situations and could offer some advice.
  14. Ok, Millman just asking. I guess it does hurt to ask. I would be totally willing to work with the dealer on making a post. In the mean time, if there is something in a post that I can do myself with a little help to save a few bucks during a struggling time, then I'll do it. I'll consider the matter closed.
  15. It is a GE FANUC 18T 6 Axis Swissturn with a subspindle and auxiliary tool slide. Here is some sample code out of the Instruction book: Sample Program#1 Second Path MAIN PATH O0001; O0001; M853; M853; N50 (COLLET RECHUCK); N50(COLLET RECHUCK M200; M200; G28 W0.; T0505 S1000 M13 M201; G1 G99 X-.02 F.002 M1; M21 G300 Z2.35 M22 G4 U.5 Z-.05 G28 U0. M201 M1 I guess this is multi task machining post work. There are, what I think, sync codes in here... (M853 etc),
  16. Is there anyone out there using this type of machine? [ 12-03-2003, 01:26 PM: Message edited by: ChrisD ]
  17. Thanks guys. Hi Dave. Been a while.
  18. Does anyone out there have the CHook called stlxform for v8.1? I used to have it but had to reinstall MCAM8 and lost it.
  19. I did a search but could not find any referring to a supplier. (Maybe that's what I should have asked in the first place!!!)
  20. Good Evening, It's been a while since I've used this forum. A freind of mine is looking to buy blank motorcycle rims (billet aluminum). I know there are a few Motorcycle enthusiasts on this forum, so I was wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction---web sites or phone numbers. All help much appreciated. Chris.
  21. Good Morning Everyone. I just wanted to know if someone could give me a listing of required for suggested hardware for a new computer. 1) Video Card 2) Bus 3) Ram (512k Or Higher?) 4) Pentium or AMD? Ver8.1.1 Level 3 w/Solids
  22. Hey guys. Just spoke to the new bosses and they're gonna transfer the licence over. So no Gibbs for me! Its been a while since I've been on the forum I'm just getting over pneumonia and haven't been too well. I guess it's all the stress from our situation that got the best of me. I have two two things to say. Don't smoke, and make sure you dress properly out in the colder weather cause pneumonia ain't fun. Chris
  23. Hi guys , Sorry to say , but the new place I'm going to is using Gibbs. I'll try my damndest to convince them otherwise. Oh well , a job is a job. Chris [ 09-27-2002, 11:34 AM: Message edited by: ChrisD ]
  24. Good Morning Guys. First of all thank you for all your replies. They have been very encouraging. Within 20 minutes of me writing that topic yesterday, I went home and found there were about 10 messages on my answering machine. About 5 of them were shop owners that had caught wind of our company's demise. (my, my how news spreads fast). When I spoke to each one of them, they had heard of me! I couldn't believe it! So I guess I will go see each one of them in person and see what they have to offer. They even told me they will offer me more than what I'm making here! (I've taken this part out because I felt it was wrong to express these types of feelings in this type of manner.) I guess yesterday I was feeling very , very bitter about the whole thing. Any way, it was nice to know that doing the best job you can and acting in a decent, honest manner will get you farther than you think. Up until yesterday it was clear to me that only pricks would get ahead in this world. I was wrong. I feel fn great now. Thank you guys. Chris. [ 09-25-2002, 09:10 AM: Message edited by: ChrisD ]
  25. Just wanted to say thank you to you all for helping when I needed it. Just found out this morning that we have two weeks left. Won't be going back into the trade again. I'll settle for anything else . I give up. To everyone . Thank you. Chris [ 09-26-2002, 11:22 AM: Message edited by: ChrisD ]
