Where can I get my hands on a RC 73 Colombo ATC ISO 20 spindle 40K RPM ??? FAST !!! The Serial # of my existing dead spindle is 042327 PDS in NC does not have one, Will take until thanksgiving to get it repaired. They also stated that there has been several revisions to the design so a replacement must be interchangable with my serial number. I have had issues when using Dynamic Xform when the solid is shaded. When I try to move with solid shaded MC Crashes If I switch to wireframe.... no issue..

Rickster Tried the save>shutdown>restart MC> Open still no go. Saved as a Parasolid tried in both X3 and X4 still can not select either faces or entire main solid. loaded the Parasolid back into SW2009.... Ran the Import diagnostics... Found the Two faulty faces... Repaired... saved as Solidworks file... imported into X4... Now I can select the Main solid... So must be the faulty faces made MC act funny anyway... back to work. thanks for the suggestions

Importing a SW 2009 file with 6 separate solid bodies I delete 2 that I do not need and the main body I can not select except on the Solids tab? in SolidWorks it says that the body in question has some bad edges... perhaps that is the problem ??? MC has never gave me a problem importing before. First time I have had this problem.. even with "dirty" solidworks bodies .... Any Ideas ??? convert to Parasolid maybe ?? thanks

yep... Have RapidWorks too.... Scanning large and small parts... It is so cool.. for $3,000.00 you can not beat it... It takes a little bit to learn how to use it. But after that you will wonder how you ever got along without it !!!! I have scanned duct covers for the harrier jet, Wing tip nav light lenses and Glare shields (cockpit dashboards) for Beachcraft King air Pitot covers for Marine Harriers (fiberglass to Plastic) they seal against the fuselage. EZ-GO golfcar add on parts... the list goes on and on... makes it so easy to reverse engineer...

After the shift ended last night I turned off the machine and pulled the HDD modual out and cycled all the connectors and then slid it back onto the back plane. and tightened up the retaining screws. This AM powered up and it now is functioning properly when running from the HD. Service call avoided !!!!

No X4 had to hold up on maintenance this is purely a CNC/machine issue ran same exact program from CNC control RAM no problems all day.....

Found out that the * means that "this file is currently the last selected file" the mfg suggested that I shut down and pull and reinstall the HDD card out of the CNC rack to clean the connectors. I will give that a try at the end of the day... hopefully that will do the trick as I have tried to load a different program and it does the same thing right now...

I have a 2000 or 2001 vintage "***or 8055M" control on my Quintax... This AM when I turned it on and started cutting parts this happened : Load/Run program from Hard Disk Run first part.... Unload/Reload with new part. Cycle Start.... runs about 10% of program and stops. Operator gets me... No errors. Look at program window and the rest of the program is not there !!!!! I load program from the network to the machine Hard Drive... Re copy program (that worked all day yesterday) and try again. Now it runs a little further into the program before the rest of the program is gone and it stops. Quintax service has not heard of this happening... I thought of running from control memory. Copied program from HD to memory and tried running. IT WORKED !!!!! Now I looked at the program on the machine HD from my computer.. Looks fine... all there. Executed HD program and looked at it with out running.. now it is realy messed up... Noted that the Attribute field has an astrik in front of the " -MX " on the program in question.. So it looks like this " * -MX " Anybody know what is going on... how much to fix $$$$ ???

I searched and found how to create a line normal to a face/surface FROM a point but I did not see how to do it the other way. I have points ON the surface and want to create a normal line at that point going OUT in space. Can this be done in X3 ???

NO up the radius as well the second 5 axis multi is a 5 axis conversion of the locked op. that does the floor it works good. the problem is the first 5 axis multi... it jerks around bad. I am using a tilt curve.

Utility tab Smooth surface normals... This is used if you get jerky motion between surfaces Right ???? OK I checked it and entered 1 for a value did not seem to do anything should it be less than 1 or more than 1 I am working in Inches and the area that I am cutting is about 3" x 3" hope someone is working late tonight

I can check with Quintax... IF not I do have an old 3d AUTOCad file they gave me back when we bought it... but I do not know if it is a 3d surface model or not...

I guess that I draw up the components and save them as STL's and build a virtual machine ?

Also do they have a Quintax dual table workcell already drawn ?

How do I get MachSim set up with an Icon in X3 AND will it cause problems with RobotMaster (CamPro) ???
