problem solved
as i read through PM pdfs i found chapter "Reading parameters during the NCI pre-read routine"
I dont have pwrttparam$ section in my pst file. So i added it, put "prmcode$" parameters in it and it works now.
I tried to modify my post to generate "tool manufacturer code" and "shoulder lenght" in tool table.
so i defined variable "var1" to store shoulder lenght - var1 : 0
and string "smanufcode" to store code - smanufcode : ""
also defined format of var1 - fmt "l3=" 4 var1
and add condition to pparameter$ section
if prmcode$ = 20007, var1 = rparsngl(sparameter$,4)
if prmcode$ = 20002, smanufcode = sparameter$
and calling var1 and smanufcode to pwrtt$ (tooltable output) - original from reseller, only added *tcr$ in the past.
if tdef_table, # Put all the TOOL DEF blocks at the top of the program?
[
if t$ > 0 & gcode$ <> 1003, #If a "real" toolchange
"; ", *stooldef, *t$, *tlrad$, *tcr$, *var1, "Code:"*smanufcode, e$
]
But all tools have parameters from first one:
; T. 20 R:5.00 Cor.rad.:0.50 l3=24 Code: A123B
; T. 23 R:0.50 Cor.rad.:0.10 l3=24 Code: A123B
; T. 30 R:0.30 Cor.rad.:0.30 l3=24 Code: A123B
It looks like i need some condition in pparameter$ section to jump to next tool and re read variables. What am i doing wrong?
Thanks for help.
It is like scratching with right hand on left ear. What about tool overall? I have to redefine complete holder.
And one more thing: Please make backplot min/max values relative to current toolpath's WCS.
please add "angle" column in tool definition, to define angle between diameter and shank diameter. Most of tools are not two cylinders on each other, but have cone between work diameter and shank.
What about to do it via stock model. Select stock model for first op, than convert result into P-mesh. And for second Op select as a stock model converted P-mesh and solid. But not sure if it works select multiple solid for stock model.
+1 for solve this issue. Today i noticed that backplot min/max values are calculated in coordinate system with which is current toolpath's WCS binded by delta values of origin point. I always check Zmin values to be sure to prevent collision, but now these values doesn't match with g-code output.
In tool definition table section "paramaters" are 4 parameters in yellow field (Rough XY, finish XY, rough Z step and finish Z step). Is it possible to take these values from tool definition to toolpath parameters like stepover and stepdown automatically?
First of all i would like to say many thanks to all people who participate on creating Mastercam webinars. I joined my first yesterday (about WCS) and it was awesome.
Now my question:
I have rectangle with point at the centre. I select WCS Dynamic, move gnomon to the centre point, arange axes and click, than double click to confirm selection. In next window called "new view", option "set new origin" is checked, but option "associative" is grey. I have to click to arrow button on the left side and reselect my point again to gain WCS associative with that point. Why is not possible to have WCS associative with that point when placing gnomon?
I usually open about 300MB+ step files (complete model of injection mould) and it takes about 2 or 3 hours to open it. After opening it is little slower, but after i found part i need and save it in separate file its ok.
For one kind of job i always create about 100+ MB mcx file (a lot of komplex free surface solids with toolpaths) and i must say that with these files MC became little unstable, i have to save job every 10 mins, because crashes when doing some operations with solids became more often. But it can be solved by splitting file in parts. Reopening is faster than, because i can open only file with part i curently need. But I do not complain, because second best won't it :-) Mastercam is the best for me.
Haha, Pete you hit the nail on head! Many Thanks! One of sub folders has special characters. Even files from QC i saved on desktop and path has one special character in complete path. Everything is working now.
Question is, why everything other works? I have special character in my account name so Mastercam config and other files has it in path and working without any problem.
I renamed both header and filename. Mastercam crashes even when i click on option button so i cant select to import solids or surfaces.
I am running on Vista Business 64bit, SP2
AMD Phenom 9550 quad core, 2.2 GHz
8GM RAM
Motherboard: MSI K9A2 Platinum
Graphics: BFG Geforce 8800 GT
I tried to rename file and remove special characters (in filename and header of step) and it doesn't work neither. One of the files i uploaded was "01_1" so no special characters.
i tried to open them in X5 MU1 without any problem, export as step file and open in X6 -> crash
