Did you order Monster or Duramill? We have used both brands and they both seem like good quality. Monster has a new HP endmill at general endmill prices called the APG Series. I think we are going to try them out. Thanks for the reply.
Jason
Yes it should be moved. Didn't think there would be a big response.
Delivery is very important to our company. If you cant ship us a tool same day forget about it. There are to many distributors out there that have to many brands and don't even know what the have. All I need to know is if you have it in stock and can I have it tomorrow morning. That's why MSC is on top because they have it ready to ship. The thing that kill's me is they can charge twice as much for what the tool is worth because of that.
Also did you know Monster Tool has a new High Performance Variable Helix Endmill for the price of a standard endmill. Thats going to save some time and money Has anyone tried these out? Ill have to order some up. My guys love trying to push new cutters to there breaking point. APG Series there called.
When I change a tool number in finalize properties to lets say 5 it goes back to tool 1. I have to do it a second time for it to stick. Tool number wants to stay in order. Is there a setting for this? Thanks
Hi all,
Seeing if anyone can help me out with this question. The purpose of a variable flute carbide endmill is to use the flutes or side of the cutter when slotting or high feed milling?
If Im thinking right it would almost be pointless to use this type of endmill when just using a pocket toolpath with shallow depths.
Thanks, Jason
Thanks For the reply's everyone. Yeah the price of good american made carbide drill's is so cheep these days its only makes sense in most cases to go carbide. A carbide drill distributor can sell carbide drills the same price as others sell cobalt.
Thanks again.
In our shop we always use Cobalt drills for cast iron and Aluminum parts. The quantities we usually run are in the 100's. I'm curious to see when people switch to carbide drills for longer production runs or just based on preference.
Thank you,
Jason
Thank you for your response Cathedral, Do you mind me asking where you purchase Mastercut. Do you go directly on there website? I heard good things about this brand a while back and wanted to try them out but haven't been able to find a distributor online.
Hello,
We just recently stopped buying endmills from MSC and have saved a ton of money. We started buying from tigertoolsupply.com who has all American made tools with very good prices.
Just curious if anyone has somewhere like tigertoolsupply.com where they can buy all american made products and are cheaper than MSC.
Thanks, Jason
