How do you do a multi lead thread in mill?
I need to cut a 2 lead buttress thread in the mill. I do not see anywhere in Mastercam X2 that allows me multi leads.
In lathe it gives you the option but I do not see it in the Mill.
Kyle if I understand what you are saying I want the A axis positioning and the C axis full contouring.
Colin we looked into the Haas but they will not put a Fanuc motor in for the 5 axis contouring.
I have a YCM 102a vertical machining center. I need to put a 5 tilt rotary tables up there. What we bought was a Yuasa DMTRT220. It is just to darn big. With that up on the table and a standard 6" vise I only have about 4" from face of tool holder to top of hard jaw. That does me no good.
I need to find a low profile 5 tilt rotary tables to put up on my table. Does anyone have anything like this that is not a full blown 5 axis machine?

Have a quick question for you guys. I have a Bridgeport Mill that I will have the head rotated at 45°.(spindle at 45° to table not perpendicular to the table) I will have the rotary table up on the table of the mill with the platter facing the operator facing parallel to the “X” axis. How do I find center of the rotary table?
Jason
I tend to think that it is machine error. I have my tools drawn and defined right on the money in MasterCam. I am going to be getting a new machining center in her end of the week. I will be doing some testing when it gets in.
Thanks

That is what I was going by. If I take The major from the minor that should be a pretty good guess?
I am at .060 for this thread and about .003 or .004 in the controller.
With a M10 X 1.0 I have .05 in for overcut to make a good size thread.
My thought process was right maybe it is just my crappy machine.
Jason
I am not understanding how the over cut works with thread cutting.
On a 1/4-20 thread I will countor the .201 hole. I will use the same .201 hole to run the thread mill off of. How much over cut should I use on this thread?
I am using a single point Micro100 TM-140.
Thanks

This is a registered bug with CNC. It mostly happens from what I can tell when you are using your own tool library.
Mine was losing tools changing tool and duplicating. I registered it as a bug thru my local reseller.

I am running X2.
G187 basically overrides SETTIINGS 85 & 191.
You can also go in and play with SETTING 85 Max Corner Rounding, and 191 default smoothness and see what kinda changes they make. I did not see any difference in our part quality changing these settings.

What is the problem? Does the surface finish look like crap. If so there is not a lot that can be done. I had the HAAS factory tech up here Frday and Saturday to adress this issue on my GR510 and there is nothing that they were able to do. He did do some servo tunning and was able to get it a little bit better but not much.
And I was only running 130 IPM.

I set it up in the last place I was at. I did not use any of the extras with it. I had 3 verticals and 1 lathe set up on the hub. I had no issues with the DNC package.
Now the IT department that was another issue.
I have three work stations that I want to configure all the same.
What files do I need to copy to every machine?
There are machine files, config files, tool libraries?
Can I set them all on the network so everyone can pull from on directory?
Thanks
Jason
