  1. Can you post that file to the ftp site?? So we can play with it.
  2. What type of toolpath are you trying to write? How much RAM do you have allocated to Mastercam in your system settings? Try bumping that up if it isn't already.
  3. You have to be a babysitter for a while until the workers get used to your new system. You will have to come up with the criteria for the parts you are producing and document it as you make them and then repeat that everytime. Document your first part approvals and then every tenth part should be checked and documented also after a while the workers will be used to it and it will just be the way you do things. This is a cheap way of starting the ball rolling and that is the first step. Good luck.
  4. We will be doing the Redline hood assembly and headlights I'll send pics of that stuff too. It is fun getting to work with the customer and make changes with them right there and for them to see the power and speed mastercam can deliver. Plus I get to goof around with cool toys like that we do a lot of tractors, cars, combines, boats, and all kinds of heavy truck components. It is never the same parts. Here is a pic of the motor the block and heads were completely billet cut and the pipe is a custom made setup pretty neat stuff more go than my car has in it:)
  5. Here is a pic of an Arctic Cat Pro Modified racing sled that you see on the x-games on ESPN. We produced the new hoods out of TPO for durability and the part weighs 6.6lbs. Motor produces 185 hp!!! A little snappy. We fired it up in the plant it sounded mean.
  6. ABS is good stuff to practice on I don't know the price differences but that RENSHAPE material is the best I think but it is pricey. Depends on what you want.
  7. Wow!!! she went off the handle look over your shoulder man she'll be there. nice restraint not hitting back can't stand that sh&&&*^t
  8. This forum rulz because you can get great info on anything from what you are doing to something you have never heard of and it can give you good ideas for the future. Also it is a place to see other peoples view on different subjects. It is a great break time place to visit.
  9. Go level 3 you can do everything then and even if you don't use it all the time it will be there and you can train yourself for the tough stuff later.
  10. Are you trying to machine surfaces or are you just cutting an edge? What are you trying to do? I use curve 5 toolpaths and use lines for the tool tip control but I guess this would only work for an edge.
  11. I'm about 15 minutes away now but when I first moved here it was 45 one way through heavy traffic but I still couldn't imagine what it is like in California. Hope you guys are making good $ to deal with that.
  12. Learn all you can from your trainer but the real knowledge comes from jumping in and doing it and learning from your mistakes good luck.
  13. Try a reinforced fiberglass. How big is the part? Are the fixtures just being blown away by the bead blasting?
  14. Family coming up for the weekend. Grilling out, having a bonefire and getting on the lake sounds like the plan for me matbe some golf definately beer.
  15. You could also create a curve on the material thickness of the part right where the hole is and use that for a vector line or get in a perpendiclar view of the hole and create a perpendicular line off of the hole. There are many different ways of doing this that is the beauty of mastercam:)
  16. We are the masters of our own destiny my favorite saying is "if you don't like the heat get out of the kitchen" that gets used alot where I work at everybody is so afraid to grab the bull by the horns and do something. Alot of people like to worry about everybody else's job insstead of my own and then when things aren't going right it is always the upper management or engineers or somebody else. Gets real old real quick.
  17. Yep the company I currently work for is ISO compliant and every couple of months we have the auditors come through and rake us but this time we had no non conformances:) I do need to get my tape measurer calibrated haha. So I just throw it in a drawer and lock it:)
  18. Man you guys are great this forum is a very useful tool I owe you guys some beer thanks alot:)
  19. Thanks specv for the program:) I'll give it a shot tomorrow if anybody has any others they would be appreciated. THanks guys
  20. No I don't have a post for it and I'm looking for a simple program that has some tool changes in it so I can send the program to the mastercam dealer and they can make the post for me I don't currently have a post at all for it and I don't have enough experience with post editing to figure it out on my own.
  21. Keith, What kind of machine are you running that long thing in? Is it solid carbide or are you using a tool extension? I'm using one that is 7 inches long where do you get one like that??
  22. What is the longest tool anybody has used?? and to cut what?
  23. This is what I have guys it has a professional 3 fanuc system 6m model B for the controller I guess. Bare with me guys haven't had any experience with a machine of this type. The tool changer is the random pot style tool changer. If one of you guys want to e-mail me a program or something so I can get started and see if it will run the program you send me with out any errors or alarms I would owe you some beers:)
  24. Maybe vacation time good time for it.
