  3. I usually heal this stuff in CADKEY when I can and Im not at work now so I cant test this, but ... if the system tolerance is reduced to a coarser value than the gaps before importing will the gaps go away ?
  4. Ive done this with the Kennemetal KTF drills like this... Make a copy of your post for this purpose. In post: # Enable Canned Drill Cycle Switches # ------------------------------------- usecanchip : no #Use canned cycle for Chip Break <------change this question to "no" In MC9 operations: Use Chip Breaker Cycle - Set Initial peck to the depth of slow (first) feed. - Set Subsequent Peck to a value GREATER than the final depth. - Set Peck Clearance 0 - Set Retract to 0 The code will include multiple moves on the depth, but you will still have to add a feed change manually in the code. In NC Code: N108 G43 H1 Z2. N110 Z.1 N112 G1 Z-.15 F4. N114 Z-2. <---------Add High Feed Rate Here N116 G0 Z2. N118 M5 I havent had do do this enough to figure out how to set up a special cycle to output the 2nd feed rate. I have just done the manual edit when neccessary. Longshot here but ... did you check if by chance there is a fancy advanced canned cycle for this in your control ?
  5. Ron, Please let us know how you make out.
  6. quote: Im unemployed and I would not want this JOB well said I dont see it happening. We've done a fair amount of hardened 440C(Surface Grinding, Jig Grinding, Wire/Ram EDM and Hard Turning.) I can hardly imagine making a scratch in 58 Rc 440 with a .02" end mill. Any chance of milling in annealed cond. ? Althogh Im not even sure annealed 440 will make for a very good production milling process with tooling that small. [ 03-18-2003, 09:31 PM: Message edited by: CPeast ]
  7. Peter Scott, SmartCam supported import of Asic aolids. Within Smatcam FFM 11, you had some functionality that would support toolpathing such as hole recognition and Z level boundry curve extraction. The solids data was maintained and an export option for SAT up to V2.1 I believe exists.
