  1. There's a video on YouTube about a medical company making spinal implants outta titanium on dt1s. I'm just cutting plastic... I just wonder how solid they are as far as longevity running the spindle wide open all the time. I read on cnczone or practical machinist that they were having spindle issues back in 2011ish. I would think that's been corrected by now right?
  2. Our parts that were running now have +/-.002" position and form.
  3. Anyone ran these for long? I see the TRT-100(small budget 5th axis rotary) out now and was wondering if I could make this machine and rotary combo work for what I need... I'm just cutting plastic but I'd like to hold +/-.001 if I need to. Also wondering about reliability down the road.
  4. How would you go about programming that on a 5 axis vertical?
  5. Hit the toolpath button in ops manager. The lil squiggly line that turns toolpath lines on and off
  6. I forgot to check that file, super busy day. Can you post a file? Maybe it would do better with a full stepover, light depth cuts, with say a 3/8" end mill with a .060" radius...?
  7. How big is the part? Have you considered going with a smaller tool. I milled several parts with a 1/4" Garr v5 around 300sfm with no trouble. I'll check my file tomorrow and post the cut parameters. Maybe I just got lucky!
  8. With a .03" corner radius. .500" depth of cut, fs wizard is showing around 300sfm and .0023 chip load. I've cut cobalt chrome at these speeds/feeds. But it was with a 1/4 end mill and it was only a few parts. Sounded good though
  9. What depth of cut? How many flutes? Corner radius?
  10. Try the feed speed wizard. Or post your cut parameters and I'll plug it in for u. In my minimal cobalt chrome experience, I actually found that most folks are feeding too slow.
  11. Go to quick nc button. Go to maintenance/setting, then do turret restore(1). Then follow the directions on the screen
  12. Use the stock model "toolpath" If u can load a file I can try to help
  13. Surface rough it, then finish it by hand coding the finish pass. Shouldn't be that hard on a cone
  14. So u want the same thing, just have the part pointing towards the spindle?
  15. Here you go... Hope this is what you were looking for. FLOW.mcx-9
  16. Try enabling and then re-disable classic back plot.
  17. I didn't get a chance to get to it today. I'll get u a file by Monday for sure
  18. Upload a file n I'll shoot u an example in the morning
  19. You have my attention! Care to elaborate on this?
  20. That's definitely doable on the mastercam side. How you go about it will depend on your machine and if you have 5 axis in mastercam.
