When doing tangent lines it also depends on which direction you "wrap" around arc to arc. There's not just one tangent line between two circles. Could be why you got two different results.
Already done with the part but I was just curious for next time around...always like another tool in the toolbox!
I'll draw up something later and post it up
Say you wanted to do a dynamic style path "spiraling" into the part, but contain the x axis (on a variaxis style machine) to a small area and use c axis to do most of the work...
What type of axis control strategy would one put in place here?
I didn't get a chance to get to it today. I'll try in the morning.
Just curious, about how far did it set you back for that custom post?
How advanced is this mod?
I've got the post documentation from my reseller and a little post experience...think I could pull it off?
On mazaks, is posting G68 in EIA like using wpc shift and index mazatrol?
That sounds very useful to us. We have a sort of hybrid programming style where I work. Some guys do all 2d in mazatrol and post the 3d from mastercam. The rest use center of rotation 100% from mastercam.
It would be much easier on the operators.
We're already running robodrills. Love them. But if a machine 1/2 the price will make my parts reliably...why not???
I'm looking for someone that's ran one for a few years.
Maybe I should sign up and ask those guys over on PM
