  1. Gcode In side view create point next menu bolt circ. Ex: 8 points on a pcd of your choice. Toolpath C axis cross drill Now with T/plane and C/plane set to 3 select points. The machine drills the points ratating the C axis to each point this is what im after but when i post it its not right. The drill will be positioned in z and y.Then only C should change and go threw the drilling cycle.
  2. HI all, I got the c axis milling working thanks to all. Now i can't get the c axis to out put when doing cross drilling. Im getting................... O0000 (TORQUE_TUBE_BLANK ) NAT06 ( TOOL - 6 OFFSET - 6 ) ( CROSS DRILL UNDEFINED ) ( C-axis Cross Drill ) N100 G14 N102 G0 X-565.686 Z-250. THX IN ADVANCE
  3. Gcode you have to laugh. I was doing Toolpath next menu Mill Contour Not Toolpath next menu C-axis Cross contour your file posted with my post perfect. Im new to Lathe and asuned to use a milling toolpath because thats what im doing. I now have the answer thank you
  4. Gcode thanks the email you have is my home email work is [email protected] The part is not a sqaure in that the four flats are different x values. I could write it myself long hand. I just want to get M/C doing it
  5. Thx so much 4 your input and all those who did reply.
  6. Im using the bottom of a endmill.
  7. Harryman, I did what you said and it works fine in backplot,it rotates the job 90 and follows contour with the tool in the back plave position. But when i post it i get this...... O0000 (TORQUE_TUBE_BLANK ) NAT09 ( TOOL - 9 OFFSET - 9 ) ( CONTOUR 3/8" TC TIN COATED END MILL ) N100 G13 N102 G0 X800. Y0. Z250. I can't get to ftp site at work
  8. Reply do a search I asked same question a while ago.I ended up roughing with an 20mm dia Sandvick RMR cutter at 20000 rpm and 15 meters a min feed with no prob.At 10mm deep and 10mm stepover. Most of the time the machine could not reach the programed feed rate any way . Most people say push it till the cutter breaks and then back off 5%. I just start at tool supplyers recomendations.
  9. Ok im at work now. Im trying to machine the top face of the square. I set T/Plane back #3 C/plane top. The toolpath backplots with the tool moving along the contour in x axis.It should even in backplot rotate the job 90 degree and move in the Y axis I think? I have set the rotary button to Y.
  10. Millman I could and edit the deepth on each face to get the dim im after. But I want to know how I can get it to work in M/C. Lathe guy if i use top T/plane and c/plane mastercam backplots correctly but the tool is in the top not at the back and this doesn't put in a C axis rotation.
  11. The ops on the bottom use T/plane 4 (bottom)
  12. T/plane #3 is the standed (Back View). I dont need to create any special t/planes to machine this job. The other 3 faces then would be on the standard Top,Front and Bottom T/plane and C/plane. I just cant get the C axis to rotate 90 degrees when machining the top C/plane geomertry.
  13. The tool stay's in T/plane #3 (Back). I was under the impresion if i selected a line that was laying in the top C/plane,the C axis would rotate 90 deg to the tool plane? I think i need to make any new C/planes as its just a square that is perpendicullar to the y axis. Cheers
  14. MILLTURN quote: Sounds like you are wanting to lock the "C" axis and mill in the "Y" axis Correct? Thats exactly what I want to do. I have done face at C/Pplane and T/plane #3 (back). If i have an ISO view and select the line that represents the top face of the square, how do i get the C axis to rotate to the T/plane and machine in the Y axis? Its not a square as such the four sides are different dim from the centre line so i cant rotate the toolpath. Thx
  15. I changed all settings that u told me,what i missed was turning misc interger on. (Y axis over centre ON OFF.) If i set this I get what im after if I dont I get all the C axis movement. This is what i get now Thank you very much O0000 (TORQUE_TUBE_BLANK ) NAT09 ( TOOL - 9 OFFSET - 9 ) ( CONTOUR 3/8" TC TIN COATED END MILL ) N100 G13 N102 G0 X0. Y400. Z-250. 16. What am i missing it should be y axis movment only at C0???
  17. I changed it to a 1 and i get this in posted nc file. Ex:G94 G1 X18.101 C51.216 F700. 18. this is what's in my post. y_axis_mch : 0 #Machine has Y axis should i change it to a 1??? thx 4 the reply's guys
  19. Hi all, Im not asking 4 a post.OK Im trying to machine a square on the end of a turned part. LB15 Okuma Lathe Turn machine. I set C/plane and T/plane to 3 (back). Countour mill toolpath a single line. Do the same in Top,Front and Bottom and i should get a sqaure? What I get in backplot is the part spinning on the c axis. The C axis should be set to C zero,90,180,270 and the cutter move in Y axis. What am I doing wrong? Also the post MPOSP7C.PST spits out a whole lot of C axis moves. Thanks for any replys
  20. DavidB ... Check out http://www.mscdirect.com/PDF.process?pdf=1606&x=5&y=6 Can some one in the states please contact these people for me I have sent emails and no responce im after 100 iso 40 tags, and 50 BT50 reusable ID tags. Or can you ask them to contact me at [email protected] I can't find any in OZ. Thank you so very much
  21. Perfect i contacted them by email Thx mate
  22. I have 6 milling machines and 5 lathes to look after. The setup up time on the milling is what im look ing at. Im thinking about taging the tooling some how so the tool# and length are always with the tool. The operater should be able to get the correct tool from a trolley and put in the machine and not have to set the length, this would have to save time. My consern is if they break a tool in production change it and dont update the tag for that tool. Thx for the replys
  23. I now in Australia all the car manufactures use UG. I also now what they get an hour.WOW If anyone has the chance to learn UG go for it. I did some coarses on it and it is so powerful, but just not user friendly. We used it for plastic injection moulding design,we also hade UG CAM,but I stuck to Mastercam
  24. Hi all, Im looking for any advice on how to store Mill tooling for a shop floor that runs small batches. I've been given the task of reducing tool set up time. At present each job has a tool list with tool build up and ext. With pictures as a guide. And op sheets. Im thinking would it be better to tool each job and keep that tooling set and on a trolley for that job only? This would cost a bit of $. The main prob I see is we only do small batch numbers so to tool up would be costly. But the machine can be set up for different jobs 2 or 3 times a week. Any thoughts coments greatly appreaited.
