  1. does anybody have any input on this machine?it is going to have a seimens sinumeric 810d controller on it. thanks for your input in advance
  2. if im not misstaken you have to draw the tool up by itself then save it. you then open your part drawing and call up a custom tool, here is where you choose your tool drawing up in the tool library

  5. thinking of purchasing a dnc controller(predator)any comments?it is going on 17 cnc mills and lathes.the reson for wanting this is to be able to send and recieve prog's from machine controller and better organization of programm files
  6. this usually happens when you edit your post incorrectly.check all changes you or someone else may have changed.also make sure you are using a mill post and not the mpfan lathe post

    sub routines

yes, i can use extended work ofsetts(28 parts?)and what i am edeting out is all the subs.each part is identical, but it post's out a sub for each individual part 27 subs.and i am going .250 total z depth on each part with depth cuts of.03 each cut on profile,so in the main prog. it has all of the z depths then calls sub thats about 233 z depths just in the main program!i guess i will create some kind of macro for this.any more suggestions is welcome, and thanks for your input
  13. get right to it i have a plate, want to profile 28 parts out of this in depth cuts.toolpath's/next menu/transform etc..it is posting sub's but the prog. is a guzillion lines long.i can edit the program and get it to be 100 lines or less.but there has to be a way mastercam/post will do this work for me.any suggestions? fanuc controller sub box checked using latest mpfan post thanks

    sub prog.

ok you got me headed in the right direction,i did it and yes it did kick the z in the sub just like your example, butin your example it is cutting the same tool path multiple times at same z depth.can we do this at multiple depths.and in the main prog have the call up for the sub to be repaetable.like in your example it called up the sub 9 times in the body of the program.how do i get it to go P0009?instead of it fisically calling it up in 9 individual lines. thanks

    sub prog.

cutting a contour with depth cuts and use sub prog.when i post it,in the main program it has a "z" step then calls sub- a "z" step then calls the sub,and so on.... how can i have this have the z step in the sub and have the call of the sub numbered(or how many times to loop the sub P1001 to say P10015 thru posting)just makes for a lengthy prog hope i described this clear enough, thanks for any suggestions

  20. THE VACUUM CHUCKS I HAVE MADE ARE PRETTY BASIC. THE DIFFICULT PART COMES WHEN YOU HAVE FEATURES THAT GO THRU THE PART.NORMALLY,JUST ROUND ALUM.(OR SQUARE FOR MILLS) WITH ..125 FULL RADIUS (BALL NOSE TOOL).095 DP. IN CIRCLE DIA'S VARIUS DIA.'S.WITH .125 HOLES ON FACE INBETWEEN FULL RADIUS DIAMETER THAT INTERSECT WITH HOLE ON SIDE OF FIXTURE THAT IS PLUGGED.THEN A SWIVEL SYSTEM ON THE BACK THAT GOES THRU THE BORE OF YOUR CHUCK AND TO VACUUM PUMP(IF A MILL FIXT, THIS IS NOT NECCESARY,JUST PLUG VACUUM PUMP TO THAT HOLE THAT I MENTION TO PLUG FOR LATHE)AND COMPANIES SELL FOAM RUBBER IN .125 DIA. SPOOLS.ANY QUESTIONS IF THIS IS ANY HELP,E-MAIL ME OR POST QUESTION
  21. i know, this isnt really a mastercam question.just thought someone might know this question. fanuc o/t controller the light will come on at end of prog (m2-m30) but will not come on to prompt tool change(moo-mo1).kinda annoying when running multiple machines, you have to walk over there to see if that tool is running or not.is there a setting or parameter change for this? thanks in advance
