  1. I don't know very much here but maybe need to open the X7 file in X8 and save in X8 then import? Just a thought
  2. Great that worked, Thank you, One day I have to send you guys some Boudin and Cracklings from here in Cajun Country Russell
  3. Let me send the zip2go 2001007063D detail 2.Z2G
  4. Not sure if this is X8 causing this , but when I project text to the surface of a cylinder to engrave, some the number 0's or text O's takes a short cut on top of the radius, and skips chains like on the top of the "P" shown on the attached pic. When I pick my chains I use the window option for chaining. This has been happening randomly when I do this path since I installed X8. I have a help request out with my reseller and waiting for a response, just wanted to see if anyone else is see this. Thanks Russell
  5. Cincy, If you have nitrogen bottles on you Z's might check the pressure, may need to be topped off?
  6. I'm not very savvy on posts, I did try to find out why when I migrated from X7 to X8 ( I can't find any difference in X7 and X8), I lost someway my Tool List on my heading when I post a project. Should I go to my reseller or is there an easy fix? Thanks Russell
  7. Yes changing to "0" did the trick Great Guys "thanks -a-lot" Russell
  8. Thank You JP, I'll give that a shot Thanks Russell
  9. Morning everyone, I have an A axis rotating part here drilling and tapping an OD, I did a hole axis on my solid model with points, did my drilling and tapping on the Top Plane, all positions and rotation is perfect, only I don't understand why when posting it changes many of my offsets to like G55; G56, etc.? I included a zip2go if anyone interested in looking at my little dilemma. Thank you for any feed backs Rotate.Z2G
  10. Thank you JP, lil bit scary, hope I never get in to 5 axis Later
  11. Morning everyone, If someone would have a couple of minutes to look at this MX8 zip file. My issue is on the last two drill opts, the 1/8" and the 9/32" drills. These two are exactly the same as the other opts drilling, it's a simple canned drill cycle. When running backplot and verify, it's crashing into the part. But the post seems to be ok no crashes? Can't figure out why these are the only two showing me this. I must have something wrong in my setup? Thank you for your time. Rotate.Z2G
  12. Thanks Jay, that helps my confidence in our program
  13. Well good luck for a response on this one, I've asked here and on the Mastercam site too and no one even says peep? I guess it's a stupid question, I don't know?
  14. Well for me thread milling is the way to go, a good carbide multi flute mill for aluminum with plenty of coolant on a 1" diam. would really last a long time on an od thread not re-cutting chips. Once you get it tuned in should be less than a minute for even two roughers and a spring. Great thing about it is with tool wear you have more control over sizes.
  15. Thanks for the response, I'll look at Opti-Core, I did forget to mention all we have is mill level 3, no multi axis. Thanks
  16. Can I get some ideas on this part please. I've attached the ZIP2GO, my thoughts were to do a spiral surface from the outside of the part to cut the angled compound radius on top, the stock will have about 1/2" to remove. Thanks Russell Tapered Weight Surface.Z2G
  17. Well I just use the reverse direction on the toolpath chaining page, makes me no deference if starts 3:00, 9:00, etc.
  18. Thanks, just never thought of that way, I really don't know how the tool got changed to center in the first place, never did it like that. Thanks for helping an ole Cajun my friend.
  19. Well Ok DJ great thanks, didn't notice that, yes it fixes the verify thing. But wondering why when I post it posts Z0." and verify it's working on the center, shouldn't the post reflect the verify and verify reflect the posts? Just asking Thanks for getting back to me
  20. I posted something similar on the Mastercam forum but no response? I have a zip2go file attached with just a simple facing opt and a Dynamic mill opt to face a plate to Z0. (I Hope) This just an example. If you would notice the facing opt faces to Z0." ok, but the Dynamic opt when I verify it's actually going -.030" in Z. on the screen and the details tab also. If you run the back plot the details tab is showing Z0., but if you look closely in the graphics you can see it below Z0. When I post the Dynamic it posts going to Z0."??? I'm using a facing tool with a .030" radius. Now if I change the tool to 0" corner radius they all go to Z0." correctly?? Why does the .030" corner radius tool change the verify? Thanks Russell Verify.Z2G
  21. Ok I understand Colin the reasoning now. I have Jeff White with MLC Cad working on a custom cycle for me now, hopefully I'll have a better understanding of custom cycles and be able to use them. Thank you very much for you time Russell
  22. Yes it does with my people, what I've noticed is all the revisions they do on the run with the drawings, and never change the model. I always go with the drawing and revisions and sometimes call the customer. So I have to modify the solid or just make a new one from the drawing. Nothing easy anymore. Later
  23. Morning guys, On my drilling tool page I can't change the plunge or retract rate, it's shaded out? Even if I go edit the drill and change, it stays as it was with no change. If I delete cycle and make a new drill and insert it a new cycle it will change? Is there some setting to un shade the plunge and retract? Thanks
  24. Say you guys are awesome thank you for the good information Russell
